Animal protein is not the same as human protein. We get amino acids from food, and our bodies convert that into human protein. So, unless you eat meat raw, you get no protein from it; cooking destroys the amino acid chain. When a lion eats a gazelle, for instance, it is uncooked, and that would be a large amount of protein for the lion (who needs it to build strength). ------------------"All deaths are suicides, do you realize that? Every single one. The only distinction is that, with some people, suicide is a subconscious choice, and with others it's a conscious choice. Otherwise, those who commit suicide and those who succumb to accident, illness or "old age," die for exactly the same reason: belief in the inevitability of death." I'm amazed at people who should know better that think we can eat animal protein and get protein from it. Our bodies can only create protein from amino acids.------------------"All deaths are suicides, do you realize that? Every single one. Linda GoodmanbunniesI have to be honest Randall, I have never heard that before. So if you have a moment give me the theory.I would be interested.I was under the assumption that meat/fish/eggs were the only source of the full spectrum of aminos. And cooking had no effect. So what diet is best for protein intake?lechienhow about this hunk? http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2011/apr/02/i-am-a-90-year-old-bodybuilder?INTCMP=SRCH RandallOops, sorry, I didn't see this. Our bodies produce most of the amino acids we need for protein synthesis; we only have to get a few from our diet. Nuts and seeds are a great source. I eat sunflower seeds like candy. lol------------------"All deaths are suicides, do you realize that? Every single one. If you don't want to eat meat etc., then you have to mix several different kinds of incomplete protein together to get the full spectrum------------------I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.
