hmm | i did a reading and at the end realized that one of the cards was missing. a lot of the reading made sense, but there were certain cards that i felt should have been reversed or vis a vis....i did another spread asking weather the direction of the cards were right and i pulled out the signifier in the original reading, the way it was in the reading, and it really felt the cards were telling me that they were set up the way they were suppose to be... but what do you think....if u were doing it with a card missing from the deck .. could something like this happen as a result? thx |
Randall | I would look at the missing card as your answer. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark |
whereabouts | I've had that happen before. Several times over the past several years. I'd do a reading for myself and after I'd finished while putting things away, I'll see a card on the floor that must have fallen out while mixing the cards. I like Randall's suggestion. I think whatever card was missing speaks as to what the message is, maybe what you are missing? ------------------ Truth & Integrity in all things. The Truth is the answer to everything. |
EmpressMendez | I always count my cards before I read. Sometimes I just feel a card or several cards are missing. Personally, I always get upset and discard the readings if a card is missing, but if yours made sense, then just look at the missing card as something you need to know about the overall reading? |
ShyVirgo1979 | I kinda agree with the others. It may b the case that's the missing card is literlly what's missing/what ur missing in reality. Like what it represents isn't present in ur life or is blocked. But that's just my opinion. |
Junethird | The missing card was without your knowledge prior to starting your reading... The fact that your significator popped up again when asking about the reading and missing card... Shows that the message from the cards was true/intended and the self doubt is represented by the missing card. Which to me indicates that a key message of your reading is to remove that last inckling of self doubt/fear in order to move forward with your plans/decision etc. Edit: What kind of card was missing? |

the hanged man...but i didn't take note if it was reversed or not.... and that's new...i never thought of looking at it like that... thx edit; i probably should have also mentioned that when i drew the clarifier or whatever you wanna call it, the deck was also missing the card then.... i re did it...but it made less sense the second time... i think ur right....the first one was significant. i can't figure out if it's my gut that saying the reversed cards should have been upright or if it's just my wishfull thinking that's making me think that. all this kinda leads me to another question tho...if you don't mind do we have the 'authority' to void a reading if it doesn't seem to make sense to you.... how/when/why would you do that. how often etc lately my cards have not been exactly 'revealing'... when i first got them they were. i did a lot of readings on one subject...different questions usually, but still concerning the same situation. could this be why, other than staying away from the deck, what's another way i can clear up the damage i've done by being so repetative? or do you think just staying away will be enough.... just my feeling is that it wont for some reason. idk |

Its only one theory Interesting... Well without knowing what the spread was about or cards. Maybe you are tired of inaction waiting/ standstill/ indicision perhaps? Are you ready to get this show on the road so to speak... Sometimes the hanged man speaks of letting go of sacrificing your needs for everyone else's sake. But on its own its difficult to interp. Check out Brown Owl forum if you need more info |

yeah, i think you hit the nail on the head with that one... i've been puting the action part on the back burner. ^@$#% perfect can't belive it ended up being something so simple and obvious... thx !!!!!!!!!! |
Junethird | We all have our own personal take on the hangedman, mine is that I think you need to remove the self doubt. The hanged man upright is about inaction. Accept and surrender so to speak. Taking everything one step at a time.. Well if he is perched on his post "upright" he isnt walking anywhere. Just reflecting. Use salt to clear the enrgy of your cards and leave them alone for a day or two. De-stress and distract yourself so you can come back to them with a clearer mind and spirit. I hope othes chime in soon... EmpressMendez also has a good interp take on the hanged man... So maybe her knowledge may struck a cord with you aswell In the meantime, I encourage you to check out our forum Brown Owl for more info |

how? i'm sorry, for bombarding you with questions but if we take the missing card as an 'advice/suggestion' card. the hanged man reversed vs upright would be very different. one telling you to act the other to reflect.... i *think* it was reversed. i guess that wasn't even a question just me venting out my frusturation over the lack of clarity. but the salt? how do you do that? |

Depending on cards surrounding it The hanged man stirs up alot of comtroversy on its course of action upright/reversed But because it was missing, simply its time to get the show on the road. Simply sprinkle salt on your cards.. If you wish you can split them up into 2/3 decks or sprinkle of each card individually. The choice is yours. Whatever puts your heart/mind at ease. No right or wrong method with salt cleansing Please check out our Brown Owl forum if you need more clarity on diff interps on your cards

Junethird | No worries I hope others chime in with their opinions soon the more the merrier. this forum has a lot of tarot brains |
Gem-Gurl | I recently bought my tarot deck. Awhile ago i was doing a reading for myself and i pulled the 8 of Wands. Then i decided to pull a clarifying card. It was ANOTHER 8 of Wands!!! I took all the Wands out of my deck and there was no 9 of Wands, just two 8's. I decided to just keep both 8's and not change one to a 9. I picked that deck out of all of them, so it must be special the way it is!! And as my mentor Junethird pointed out, the 8 of Wands is kinda like me haha. Or she said something to that effect! Anyways, i am not sure how that applies to your deck... but figured i would throw my story in!! |
novembermuse | I have never had this happen but in the event it happens I'll have the knowledge on how to apply its meaning. Very interesting thread!! |
