T O P I C R E V I E WCeridwenSo I did a four card spread for myself:1. What do I need to accept and love about myself?Ace of swords2. What do I need to let go?10 of cups3. What do I need to heal?Sun4. What aspect of me can assist me in healing?4 of cupsI sort of understand the first two cards.Ace of swords certainly has to do with my mental capacities, and it definitely is a big part of me analysing things. Maybe also the ability to "cut things", though I donīt make much use of it.The second card, what I need to let go of, well I hope it is not the hope for happiness. lolNo, for me this card represents family. I could imagine that this means that I need to cut the much too strong ties to my family. There is a thing as "too much, too close", so that it might serve as an excuse to do my "own thing" now and then, too. However, the last two cards are confusing. What I need to heal is the "Sun"? since I do not have too much of it, I guess maybe I should heal the lack of simple straightforward joy and incorporate more fun and playfulness into my life. But now, how on earth could the 4 of cups help me d oing that? Cathy1980May be The Sun is telling you that you are having too much of spotlight or exposure in something and it is draining your energy and the four of cups is telling you to take some alone time for yourself and contemplate on related things.Or in a literal sense, you may be working outdoors and the sun is having too much impact on you and draining you and you need to get "under the tree's shade"(4 of cups if Raider Waite) TwirlHey Ceri, Sun is the expression of the self in the purest form. The sun is whole and complete just as he is. Always. Even if it is night and we can't see the sun, it is still there. 4 of cups could tell you here to stop staring at what it is you want to obtain/do not have yet, but tune into the 3 cups that are already here (and are already who you are). They are perfect as they are and you may enjoy all of those achievements/qualities. Gratitude and acknowledging that will help you shine and feeling whole.Hope this helps you a bit Ps: I like the literal playing with cards too: sun-shadeCeridwen quote:Originally posted by Cathy1980:May be The Sun is telling you that you are having too much of spotlight or exposure in something and it is draining your energy and the four of cups is telling you to take some alone time for yourself and contemplate on related things.Or in a literal sense, you may be working outdoors and the sun is having too much impact on you and draining you and you need to get "under the tree's shade"(4 of cups if Raider Waite) Cathy, thank you for your input. No, I am not working outdoor. Actually I think I should spend more time outdoors. Would do me good. As for spotlight and exposure, hmm, not really. Though for the recent weeks and months that has been changing; while I have always been able to "hide in the background", for some reason that does not work anymore, and people tend to notice me more. While I find that sometimes uncomfortable and yes exhausting, on the other hand I also feel that this a very good thing for me.I absolutely liked the comaprision of Sun and shade (4 of cups) as well. Actually it would fit today, as the sun is rather burning. So maybe this spread was just for today? LOLActually I "let go" of my family today as they are on a trip somewhere else. CeridwenTwirl, yes, what you said there resonated with me quite a bit, maybe cause it is so close to my current attitude.Though I found it always intriguing that the man does not seem to look at the 4th cup, like he doesn`t even notice it`s there.Actually in a way it might fit today as well. As originally I had planned to go to a Vampire Diaries convention today, but changed my plan on short notice, cause I felt I needed a weekend "off" in june, as all other weekends are full. So this is the 4th weekend, that I "took off", to focus on the other 3.But I don`t think tarot is THAT literal, hu? lolCathy1980 quote:Originally posted by Ceridwen: Cathy, thank you for your input. No, I am not working outdoor. But as you mentioned most intriguing to you is that he doesn't seem to notice the 4th cup is there. So I tried to take that in and then perhaps for you it could point out a quality that you have, but is so incredibly natural to you, that you almost forgot about it. But it is there and it is yours. Would that help some more? Btw, awesome spread, the other one on relationships! @cathy, thanks for philosophical compliment Altough I'm almost sure, I must have read similar thoughts on the sun somewhere before or took it in during a guided meditation someone gave me or something (can't remember a 'source', but I think this was someone else's 'seed' planted in my brain). Actually my instant thought about the 4 of cups was that it might represent my tendency to not jumnp into the next opportunity of a relationship, just because someone might indicate he is interested. Of course on the other hand that also poses to be a problem. lolCeridwenTwirl,"I would personally read the Sun in regards to self (self image, self expression, etc in a spread like this)."Yes, I agree with this. "Yes, I can see that. though I do not know exactly what ability that is.Well, as I said in my reply to Cathy above, I donīt tend to rush into things or relationships. Of course it can also be a problem, but sometimes it is rather helpful to not walk into a great mess. The Sun for me is also very much about "Me"; I definitely am in no state of wanting to have any kind of commitment at the moment. What Iwant is to enjoy the moment and possibilities, but not laying out plans about an everlasting future,w hen not even the first step has been made. That is what he Sun represents to me, at least in this spread for me, to be in the Now and just enjoy every moment without wanting to manipulate the flow in anyway. A little bit like children live from day to day. I guess I need a holiday. lol"Btw, awesome spread, the other one on relationships!"Yes, though I find some positions a bit ambiguous. I am not happy with the position "How the partner see each other." Does it relate to how they feel about each other? Or qualites they think the other embodies? In the examples the author interchanges between these lines of interpretation, and I did so, too.Actually I used the questions as guiding lines, but sometimes the intuition sais something different. In one spread the 5 of swords seemed to be so entirely different than in the other spread. But then again I don`t like a spread in which both, the 5 of swords and the 7 of swords come up. I almost expected the 7 of cups rais its ugly head as well. Yes, I am biased. lolIn htis book is actually also a 6 card spread, with card 1 being the key-theme, card 2 being about the inner attitude, and the other cards telling the story. It is interesting. For example I did that spread on the gentleman we have been talking about, or actually, true my egocentred perspective at the moment, the exact question was why I am feeling the pull towards him, as I am pretty sure most of the reason as always lies within me.Key card: Hanged ManSurely I have been doing a reevaluation of my life, and was in strong need for "my world being turned upside down", a total change in perspective.
