Astro keen | Hi LT, Could I please take up the offer for a reading.I have two concerns - if that is OK. 1) I am just about to embark on a dissertation. Would you be able to get a sense of what my contribution should be. What can I focus on in order to make a difference? 2) This is much more straightforward. Do you see any good career developments for my son? If you'd like me to pull cards for you, please let me know. Thank you. |
LostTaurus | Hi Astro! Of course, I'd love to help if you can give me a couple of hours - in the middle of writing up a press release and negotiating sponsorship and will need to be able to concentrate completely to answer you fairly. If this is okay, let me know! |
LostTaurus | Astro, I'm in no frame of mind to answer your questions tonight, I'm sorry. I will respond t them, I promise, but too much is going on for me to be able to focus on them the way they and you deserve right now. Give me a day or two please? |
Astro keen | Whenever you can is fine. I know it will be well worth the wait. Thank you for offering to do this.. |

LostTaurus | Water management comes immediately to mind - it's a burgeoning issue we're still struggling to get a handle on from a worldview standpoint and major global players such as Gates Foundation and CGI as well as governmental entities are scrambling for smart, responsible solutions. The shortterm influence and longterm effects of 1)globalization and 2)technology & innovation (including the blockchain influence as well as AI) on farming - where we are now, where we're headed. I feel him moving on from this job pretty quickly, to be honest. Like this is a stepping stone. I'm inclined to say he's going to meet someone in interaction through this job who will move him on to the next level. Hope this helps Astro. If you need more, let me know. |
Astro keen | Thanks very much LT. Good to hear what you said about my son. I'm afraid the first question doesn't resonate so much - you have pretty good knowledge of global issues and were maybe influenced by those? I needed to be more precise in my question (this relates only to my dissertation) - should I focus on the more foundational philosophical aspects of man's relationship with nature and how that might impact on use of the earth and its resources. Or I could focus on various factors that prevent the move towards farming ecologically. Do either of these strike you as the one ? |
LostTaurus | Apologies. Yes, I probably read too much into the question. If your goal is to make impact, I'd go with man's relationship with nature: not only does this give you an opportunity to at least in brief trace a cultural (or multicultural) timeline of its evolution, this has far greater potential to charge reader(s) with a sense of personal reflection on the roles they themselves play. Is this more along the lines of what you were asking? I'm interested to see how this unfolds for you, Astro - I hope you'll keep me posted.
