hippichick | I have been using it instead of milk. NO sugar no carbs, sure fats, but I will exchange fats for the evilness of sugars and carbs. Made a wonderful quinoa pasta dish last night used heavy cream, wonderful! |
poochycat | Hey Hippychick, Not sure where you are from but if non-fat greek yogurt is available in your area it is a god-send. It can be used in many recipes calling for sour cream. Try some mixed in mashed potatoes with carmelized onions. YUMMY and very little fat! |
poochycat | Me again You can also use the non fat yogurt in pasta sauces. I can send recipes if you like. Fat is the evil triplet of sugar and carbs ha ha. |
hippichick | hi! Yes, I love to replace yogurt, but too many carbs for me to do often |
Faith | Quinoa pasta in heavy cream sounds like my kind of meal! Especially if it's raw cream. |

PlutoSurvivor | potatoes baked in cream....oooooooeeeeeee try that onei will see if i can find my recipe online instead of typing it out |
PlutoSurvivor | I made this today. Love it. Grated potatoes baked in cream... Boil 6-8 Idaho potatoes for 8 minutes, whole, with the skin on. You can do this a day ahead and put them in the fridge overnight. Peel the potatoes after they are cooled. Shred them by hand or with a food processor. Put them in a lightly greased low flat baking dish with salt and pepper. Pour over top 1/2 pint of fresh heavy cream. Top with paprika and/or grated cheese Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour. |
