T O P I C R E V I E WteaselI'm about to try garlic mashed potatoes, and just made butternut squash soup in the pot, using instructions for another squash soup. I've experienced the medicinal benefits firsthand when I was extremely sick with Lupus and bedridden for 9 months years ago. I weighed only 100 pounds at 5'8", and could barely eat due to extreme nausea and stomach pain. All the medications I was on only made matters worse, but marijuana was instant relief and helped with my appetite. I've also seen the instant pain relief in 2 cancer patients that I've known personally. My mom's best friend was moaning in agony she was in so much pain, I cried seeing her like that. She took a few puffs off a joint, and was relaxed and laughing just minutes later. We spent the rest of the day at the beach. I was stunned to see that! I doubt she would've even gotten out if bed that day without the marijuana. It has amazing pain relieving benefits, but it's largely stigmatized unfairly. Randall teaselThank you, Bluejay. I know of people who have been helped by marijuana, or the oil, but I've always been afraid to try it (and I don't think it's legal here in Ohio). I have a friend who is helped by it, too. You aren't derailing. I appreciate your advice.teaselThe easiest thing to do with this, is to throw in a box of pasta, a jar of sauce, and water (enough to fill the jar). Set it to manual, use half the time on the box for cooking, and let the pressure naturally release for a little while once it's finished. The pasta absorbs the water, and the sauce also cooks into it a little bit. Perfect one-pot meal (although not the healthiest). I sear ribs that have been rubbed with a rub mixture, cover them with sauce and a bit of water, and cook them for 30 minutes. Then I thicken the sauce a bit in the oven. Use less time if you want the meat to stay on the bone. Tried to cook a whole chicken, and it almost caved in. I prefer it cooked in the oven.Peel potatoes and cook them within 4-18 minutes, depending on what you're doing. Unpeeled for 18 minutes, whole, but with holes poked in them, and then popped under the grill to harden the skin a bit (jacket potatoes). Four minutes on manual, is usually enough to soften them for mashed potatoes, or "boiled". Eggs + peeled and chopped potatoes on for 5 minutes, resting the eggs on the potatoes. Leave 5 minutes NPR, then put the eggs into freezing cold water. Ready for potato salad. Broth in a few hours, from bones. I'm forgetting things, but I like it.
