T O P I C R E V I E WLionessI watched this over the weekend on netflixIt's call Upside downHere is the trailer. https://www.google.com/#q=upside+down+trailerhttps://www.google.com/#q=upside+down+movieBasically that met in their early teens.. But they are from two different universe's or worlds. The 2 universes have 2 different gravity pull directions.Basically the other person is upside down to the other. If one crosses worlds, the body can't handle the difference of the gravity, and causes it to burn up. So crossing worlds is forbidden. In their younger years they were caught, and separated. They meet on the highest peak of each other's worlds, and the talk upside down to each other. The male has to find a way to find her, and cross over into her world, with out burning up. It's a little out there, but the concept is the same.. They met, they are separated, they have to over come the impossible to be together. Once they are together it reflects the world... It's not the best movie out there, but it's worth watching.. If you see it, tell me what you think about how they Showed the twin flame concept.Humm... For some reason the links won't work just by clicking it... You can googleUpside down movie. PixieJaneHere's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtixqUXid9A Seems in the style of West Side Story and Romeo & Juliet. I have no idea how well they pull it off but surely the eye candy and scifi twist has to be interesting in of itself. PixieJaneBtw, I'm not certain but aren't these "forbidden love" stories (like West Side Story) more common lately? I was thinking offhand of The Host and Gnomeo & Juliet. It was also a plot device in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (both between 2 types of elves, though never realized, and also an elf and a dwarf, and given that women almost never appear in the books I'm pretty sure it was added in for modern audiences). Other movies also come to mind, like Hotel Transylvania (Disney of Dracula's daughter and a human, or so I heard, I didn't see it myself) and Hansel & Gretel (not sure if it counts, but there is a witch hunter and witch...close anyway). I don't keep up with the movies anywhere as much as I used to, and I just now heard of Upside Down, which makes me wonder how many are like that. It could be that being around teen girls more I'm getting more exposed to movies with this element (they tend to love tales of forbidden love that defy parents or their cliques) but I used to watch a lot more movies and I don't recall many following that formula (offhand I can think of Underworld between the "death dealer" vampire & werewolf and also the second new Star Wars movie between the Jedi and princess). There's Avatar, but I consider that distinct (and would call it more the "Pocahontas formula" which is similar but not the same). I don't know, I just get curious about these things. If it's true that they're more common now then I'd be curious as to why it resonates with people right now. HeraThank you for sharing, it sounds interesting! I'm gonna try to see if I can get it too.Grachaomg i love these types of movies. This one seems very interesting. I can't wait to watch it!GrachaJust watched the movie, it was pleasing and cute. I agree we are drawn to our forbidden love stories I think it's always been there, we all desire that one true love.. And seeing it on screen gives hope, and something to want... My fav love story is the Notebook... I bawled like a big ole baby... Lol... I never heard of this movie either, I ran across it on netflix, figured what the heck... It's not going to win awards, but it was a decent movie.. It had that gravity twist, which made it a lil more unique. I liked the movie... It was a lil confusing at times, but I connected more with the concept, than the actual movie.. Lioness quote:Originally posted by Gracha:Just watched the movie, it was pleasing and cute. Thanks! But the storyline isn't really about it. Nice movie though, especially the visuals.
