T O P I C R E V I E WI'm so cappyDoes it always stay in the mind forever?------------------Do you have some chocolate?LexxigramerI think so. At least a little.I went through a few years of Anorexia/Bulimiawhen I was a fat 12 year old and wanted to be skinny for Junior High.So I did a starvation diet and took off over 100 pounds, leaving me very thin.I continued my binging/purging until I was 17 years old.I have had weights from 88 pounds to over 400 pounds. The urge to do the starvation/anorexia/bulimic route is still very tempting.Might be one reason I feel like vomiting every day. However even though I need to lose a 100 pounds;I have lost about 150 pounds to date, and have kept it off.I have NEVER been able before to do that.It has taken years to lose that much weight, and the urge to go anorexic is strong;but I know those times are what led to decades of weight problems.Ami AnneI think it is a desire to fill yourself with love.------------------Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/starfairyFor me, it stays in my mind.. For me, it all boils down to a very negative body image that is hard to fix. I'm so cappyStay strong guys ------------------Do you have some chocolate?somethingexcellentOne time I made myself vomit because I felt like I ate too much, and it was take away too, so I started to feel bad for eating a lot of crappy food.I've had the urge every so often before and since, but that was the only time I've acted on it, since I have a mental block concerning puking... bridgetostars23I think you can become a recovered anorexic or bulimic. Just like an alcoholic will always be an alcoholic although they can turn into a recovered alcoholic, meaning the obsession to drink has been removed. (Like the obsession to make yourself throw up or starve yourself is gone.) In times of stress or if you do not have a program of recovery you could slip back into old ways of thinking and revert back into old patterns which is why you would always be an anorexic/bulimic type just as you would always be an alcoholic. But the alcoholism, the anorexia, the bulimia, they are just symptoms of something else. Often people will have all three of these types of issues. Voix_de_la_MerThis is an old thread, but something I have been wondering about recently, and considered making a thread on, but it's a very shameful thing for me. Eating disorders are in my family. I believe my children ultimately saved me (I put them before the disorder), but the thoughts, obsessions and the occasional fairly significant drop in weight have never gone for good. It's been about 25 years now and I'm tired.------------------Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant- Robert Louis Stevenson
