Kerosene | tell you about random relatives death that you may have encountered once as a child for a brief movement.. I was just talking to my mom on the phone and before I was about to hang up she just had to mention that and talk about that possible encounter we may have had... once... Is it suppose to be like gossip or something? Because death is not an interesting/ juicy topic I remember I was at our friends house and her moms just mentioned all these random relatives deaths and were all like lol okay?Way to make us seem cold hearted.. |
Sibyl | Well it is a little cold hearted not to care... It is important to know what family is up to and how they are, I would like to know. |
Kerosene | They are not really my relatives, actually... more like some small tie to my family.. Honestly people who pretend to care are not any better. It's just a formality.
OH WOW THATS SO SAD OMGGGG OHHHH WOW.... in that one tone.... LOL |
Sibyl | Well yes, I can see what you mean. I don't generally have much sympathy for people, but I like to keep up to date on what is going on. It has more to do with the need to know the landscape than anything. That goes for most people in my life really, whether quite distantly connected or not. Which is why I think facebook is such a helpful tool as most of the important information is streamed there. So when someone relays important information of other people's lives on me I don't perceive it as gossip, but rather as informative conversation. |

Yeah, same here. Some people do want to know, not because it's a form of gossip, but just...to be kept up to date. Also, it may be a bigger deal for parents, who are just sharing a bit of family history with their kids. Some kids care, some don't. I've always wanted to know about stuff like that, and I get p*ssed when my family doesn't let me know and I find out haphazardly or something. I've always been like that, even when I was younger. |

Was your mom close to the person who died? |
Kerosene | I think the only time I had an emotional reaction is when a distant cousin I never met who was about my age committed suicide. not really my mom is Gemini so passes information to me often. Random things going on. If felt like, Omg did you hear etc etc happened? |
Violets | I don't get all emotional about it, but I like to know...and offer support to closer family members or family friends if needed, that sort of thing. Or at least be aware, so that I'm not like "Oh hey, how's so-and-so?" and then be told that they passed away like two years ago. Also, I'm just sort of close to my family in my own weird way. So I just like to know. But yeah, my mom (Scorpio AC) can talk about people dying in a rather gossipy way also, and that does bug me. |
