venus2tinkerbell | The American Beard Epidemic Beards are in! Fashion magazines, Major League Baseball...anyone who knows what's trend(Ing) and actually cares is wearing a beard. Does anyone think there is a connection between today's current trend and our wars (conflicts, whatever) with bearded men? In case you don't know beards in the Middle East are as common and preferred as shaven faces are/were in the West. Just curious to know what you all think. As someone who was born, raised, and lives in the West , and travels east regularly, I'm just fascinated. |
Ami Anne | I love Simon Cowell and watch the U Tube video rather than watch TV and the live show. That way, I don't have to wait to see who won My point in writing is that he is sooo sexy with a beard.------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? venus2tinkerbell | I prefer a beard on a man. I used to say, in a room full of men, it's the one bearded man who's got my attention. These days half the men in the room wear beards. |
bansheequeen | I was in the military and I think a lot of people go overseas and fall in love with beards lol. Its almost like a rite of passage for the guys. Get a beard, get a shemagh. Well, throughout history soldiers have gone to another country for war and come back with trinkets and a piece of their culture. Alot of the cultural mixing and borrowed aspects of cultures is because of war. |
Soltze | This isn't happening only the US. Well for me the explanation is a lot simple. Shaving stuff is really expensive, at least were I live. So with the crise people don't even care anymore. |
aquaguy91 | I really hate the beard and hipster glasses look that is popular in the U.S. when I see guys with that look it annoys the crap out of me and I want to punch them in the face. I also hate the haircut girls are getting where they buzz the sides and back of their hair. Not to mention the obsession people have with tattoos, piercings, and unnaturally colored hair. People today look really tacky to me and they think they look cool. |

Soltze | I agree with aquaguy. It's the same in Europe. Some people look cheap. I mean having something a bit odd in a generally neat style can be interesting. But too much at the same time just looks well...horrible. Beards, buzzcuts, earplugs, rastas, big chain necklaces, licra leggings...people don't do just one LOL. It's looks like Carnival everyday Well at least the people who dress nice actually do it perfectly. Some are born with plenty of taste and I go like...WOW |
aquaguy91 | I don't want to sound like a fashion snob because I'm not. I don't dress in anything special, just jeans and t-shirts. It's just when I see those certain looks I mentioned I associate them with certain personalities that I don't care for. |
DopGang | I wear mine to cover my face. Of the two, my beard looks better than my face does. LOL I don't have a hipster beard, though lately people are calling any beard a "hipster alert" As for the conflicts and beards. I don't connect them.

At least it's a heads up, right?? |
YoursTrulyAlways | In my business, everyone is clean shaven. Otherwise, even if nothing is said because of anti-discrimination laws, men who aren't considered "presentable" wouldn't be hired, and a beard would evoke more than a few uncomfortable stares. |
venus2tinkerbell | I like the way the farm boys are doing it: Bushy beards, plaid flannels or dirty tees and dirty old baseball caps, worn jeans and work boots, and big ol' Dodge Hemis. That, or this... (google images, but you get the point) ...and it's a wrap |

I agree.

MoonWitch | I like the beard thing. As long as it's well kept and clean - it's all good.
