T O P I C R E V I E WAselzionGreetings...Hello fellow KnowFlakes... I know it's been a long time since I visited, but I have been busy learning a new divinitory tool, well new to me at any rate.I have become obsessed with Lenormand Cards, a deck of 36 cards used for "fortune telling", but whose scope of interpretation lends itself to both esoteric and mundane applications. It has been like learning (in some ways remembering) a new language. The cards literally create words, phrases, sentences and meaning in their various combinations.Has anyone used Lenormand Cards? What are your thoughts. I believe that they have been more used in Europe than the USA, but that is swiftly changing... though there are many books available in French and German on the subject, currently there are only 2 books available in English that explain this system of "fortune telling".If you are interested, one of the best introductions to this system can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=428GYBH4eYM&feature=g-all More later...Blessings in the Light...A ------------------ www.Day4Astrology.comRandallHi, A! Have you heard about the latest developments with Linda? Several manuscripts have surfaced: Hazelwood, Spider Line, and Twelfth Night Secrets! ------------------"Fall down 100 times, get up 101...this is success." --MEAselzionGreetings Randall...I had seen them when I lived with Linda and read them while I was there. It's been a long time.Where have they surfaced? What's the scoop?Blessings...A ------------------ www.Day4Astrology.comRandallWow! You lucky dog! They were found in a storage shed and were about to be auctioned, but it didn't go through.------------------"Fall down 100 times, get up 101...this is success." --MERandallDid you read one with the word witnesses in the title about Howard Hughes?------------------"Fall down 100 times, get up 101...this is success." --MEAriehnoxI own the LS French Cartomancy deck. I love it's starkness and no-frill way of delivering messages, although it requires quite the intuition and in-grained knowledge of what the symbols mean before delivering anything substantial. It won't take long before you start repeating the same cookbook descriptions on different readings, so mastery of the symbols and different combinations is required.I'm still a beginner but I did try it with my mom and it was very accurate and the predictions have come true with my 3 readings for her. (now she doesn't want to ask questions anymore, as it's freaking her out a bit that her daughter could actually do readings lol) I've done a few online practice readings too but so far real-time rapport works really best for me as I could verify if the card combinations were spot on or if it carried a different meaning, allowing me to learn and steer the interpretations into the proper direction real-time.I LOVE AndybC's Cartomantes Cabinet course (Andy's blog: http://myfortunae.wordpress.com/ || CC course: http://learnfortunes.wordpress.com/ ), and I've decided to go with the German/German-based system (mainly Treppner's and Channah's). I love how he gave structure in learning this oracle, very intelligent and eloquent on a wide field of subjects, his posts are a very enjoyable read as well. He'll soon be publishing an e-book early next year about learning Lenormand, and I can't wait to have a copy. Helen Rider and Caitlin Matthews are incredibly knowledgeable too and you can learn an awful lot with their interpretations.Ciro Marchetti (creator of the Gilded Tarot) also recently released his Gilded Reverie Lenormand deck and it's ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! If only I wasn't so broke I would've pre-ordered already; it's currently in it's second batch of printing if I'm not mistaken. I've always wanted to create a deck of my own (I'm an Illustrator), and was inclined to make a Tarot one as it's my first friend. However, my knowledge is still limited about symbolisms so I decided not to pursue it just yet. Lenormand is a great alternative as it is not pictorial and doesn't necessarily require knowledge of certain spiritual systems at all... they act more like signals than symbols. So it's a nice starting point. I first got acquainted with it by reading love being Aries' signature here in LL with a link to her Lenormand blog, so here's a lovely shoutout to her. Thank you!AselzionGreetings...Randall... I remember Spider Line and 12th Night Secrets better than anything at this point. Then I found Chanah's archived blogs and AndybC as well. I am looking forward to his book, and am taking part in his online course also. I also have the Treppner material, and one of Britta's books. Hexe Claire is working on having her Lenormand course translated into English and I will definitely take that, as I like her style... she makes alot of sense as a reader to me. Have you seen her videos? I posted a link above.I think I actually am preferring the Lenormand at this moment to Tarot, as it is very direct and to the point. Often Tarot can walk around a subject, and of course there's all that symbolism and well, this court card COULD be another person, or it COULD be an aspect of the querent. I like that there is a Man and a Woman that is always the querent, and then the other cards are easy to place in the context of the question.I think the older I get, the more I prefer simplicity!I am also on the Facebook Lenormand Study group as well.
