T O P I C R E V I E WmaklhoufMatiasma malocchio, mal de ojo. Greek, Italian and Spanish manifestations of the same thing: the evil eye. There are Portuguese, Turkish, Egyptian, Scandinavian and even British and Irish variations, but all appear to originate from a common source in the Middle East. Its modern presence can be felt most strongly in Mediterranean nations, as well as in India and the Spanish-influenced South American countries1. The practice of casting the evil eye is also sometimes referred to as ‘overlooking’. ------------------ And I will give thee the treasures of darknessIsiah 45:3Dulce LunaOh yes, I've heard of this before...from Portuguese people and therefore my country, and most importantly my Italian teacher from highschool. She told us that in order to find out if someone gave you malocchio, you would have to go to the village "witch" (I can't find a better word, so I have to use witch). This old woman would have a bowl of olive oil and you would put a drop of "X" (again, I don't remember the name of what is dropped in there, thats why I'm using "X"). I think if "X" stayed there, and didn't spread out in the Olive oil...then that means someone's been giving you "malocchio". Everytime my former Italian teacher would go back to Italy, her and her best friend would go together to this Village "Witch". Everytime, the "test" has come up positive. She thought it was someone they've both known since they were children who was/is jealous of them. Its kind of creepy when you think about it.tuxedo meow Here in South Texas this is a strong belief also. They say you can give this to someone if you admire something they have but do not touch it. If you touch what you admired then they will not get this "evil eye"-for instance, if you admire someones earrings, touch one after you compliment the person or that person will lose or break an earring! If you admire their child, make sure to touch the child before leaving so nothing happens to the child. Of course if you covet or are jealous of somebody elses something, then you do nottouch that something and you give them the evil eye. There is a type of seed that washes up on the beach here. The shell shops call it a hamburger bean but there are other names for it. If you carry one with you, it will deflect the "evil eye"! love, tuxedo meowvansio🧿 also 🤘🏽 and 🌶 Book: Mal occhio (evil eye), the underside of vision : DiStasi, Lawrence DeeI have evil eye bracelets. Randall quote:Originally posted by Dee:I have evil eye bracelets. GalacticCoreExplosion So in some old Egyptian mythology, it's talked about the great and terrible eye. It's hard to say for certain, but it seems like a reference to the Galactic Core. The ancient, pre history Egyptians knew all about the larger cosmic cycles--particularly the 12, 000 year cataclysm cycle which relates to our Sun and Solar systems position in relation to the Galactic Core. (And these cycles always happen when the Precessional Age is going from a mutable one, to a fixed one, but the worst ones always skip a beat--instead of 6000 or so years, it's 12, 000 or so). The Galactic Core stimulates the Sun to go into destructive, Fire mode, and this is the Eye of Ra, which is different than, and yet connected to the great and terrible eye. They are linked. Now it's a barely half remembered, superstition among various peoples that got influenced at some point by the Egyptian origin belief. It's like a really long and drawn out game of "telephone cup". "whisper whisper whisper, pass it down." By the time it gets to the end, it barely resembles the original message.
