I am determining whether my mercury is morning or evening star.

My sun is in 10th house at 27 deg cancer
(and to left of MC) and my mercury is in same house 21 degree leo. Is my mercury a morning star? I read somewhere that if mercury is clockwise to sun then its a morning star. If anticlockwise then its eve star.

how does sun travel a natal chart is it from ASC to MC to DC? or is it ASC to IC to DC.

Hi amigifted!! If I was lax in welcoming you, let me say Welcome now, glad to have you here!!

Astronomically, Mercury is an Evening Star in the months of March and April and a Morning Star in the months of September and October. Your Mercury comes after the Sun in your chart, making it "astrologically" an evening star. So, Mercury would only be a Morning Star astrologically if it rose before the Sun in a chart, it becomes an Evening Star if is rises after the Sun.

The planets follow the counterclockwise motion around the chart, the same as the houses. Therefore, starting at the Ascendent, they would follow the order and rhythm of the houses, moving in counterclockwise motion going from point A to point B in a counterclockwise motion. So, that means they move from the Ascendent to the IC to the DC to the MC and on around.
