Greetings purplezen!Rectification of a horoscope is an important step, even when you beLIEve you have the correct birth time.
Many different methods are used to determine birth time. Some say as soon as the head is delivered, others say the whole body. I personally subscribe to "first breath" theory. It varies widely even from hospital to hospital.
I've personally seen this at work in the chart of one of my children. Her 'official' birthtime was actually several minutes before her first breath. It was enough to make a huge change in her chart re: Ascendent and Moon placement!
I'm not sure about that $45 charge. There are several good reference books available that outline the method of rectification.
The information may even be available online. I'm not sure about that, though. Perhaps one of the other KNOWflakes has a link?
