Good morning!

I know aries-chick recently asked a similar Q in her "Grade your sun/moon/asc" thread, but most people didn't answer that part, plus this is a little different & I'm curious!

In your natal chart: Among only the 10 "planets" including luminaries Sun & Moon, what is/are your 1 or 2 tightest major aspect(s) (conj, opp, square, trine or sextile)? How close are they?

Bonus Q for extra points - How do you interpret or see the effects of it/them in your life?

I have...

Sun conjunct Jupiter (both Libra, 9th) 1*11'33"
Sun sextile Neptune (Sagittarius, 12th) 60*17'18"

My tightest ones (not including minor aspects) are:

Venus square Uranus (Virgo 5/Sag 7) 0*27' orb
Jupiter opposition ASC (Scorpio Jupiter)0*37' orb

I see venus square uranus with my severe need for independence, to the point where relationships (of any sort) really don't last long. I'm kind of unconventional when it comes to relationships, don't like to do the whole dating leading up to something else, and completely hate it when relationships do turn conventional (booorrring for me). I also like unusual people and this is part of that I believe. I like doing weird things for fun, and my tastes tend to be rather eccentric.

Jupiter opposition Ascendant, (or conjunct DSC) I think this might have to do with why I look to expand my world through others sometimes. I had to read up on this one to understand it, and it says stuff about looking for yourself in others which may lead to disappointment with others until you realize that what you are seeking in others is something you are denying in yourself. Also I think this might be why I love generous people and those who tend to have a direction/goals. After thinking about this, it's probably a shame that I hate group work because I could probably expand through it.

Sun sextile Pluto - 0.30
Sun conj Neptune - 1.09
Venus square Jupiter - 1.51

First aspect - I can't explain how it affect my life
Second - makes me really emotional and moody.
Third - well, I don't know - maybe extravagant somehow and generous in emotions.

Venus square Pluto 0.14'
Venus sextile Saturn 0.24'

I see these two as working together. The Pluto square probably makes me obsessive in love but the Saturn aspect keeps that below the surface, so I seem distant (and inside I'm going crazy, my world is being turned upside down). Also, I can definitely see that the nasty little Venus/Pluto square gives a life-changing and fated feel to all my romantic adventures and makes them very difficult, complicated and almost impossible to run away from. I think the Saturn sextile makes me take relationships very seriously, as much as I pretend that I don't.
Basically.. lots and lots and lots of difficulties in romance. gotta love it.

mars in gemini in 6th opposition neptune in sag in 12th (0.06)
the matters in which im forced (or so i feel) to work on the most keep making me
aware that my imagination can not manifest its dreams without dedicated action.
when i am unwilling to work on practical things in order to achieve spiriual things aggressive/ passive people or situations force me into a polarity dance until i integrate
i look to the midpoints to gain insight /direction
pluto in libra in 10th
so for mars compromise/awareness the blessing is actively transforming power into balance
for neptune compromise/awareness the blessing is increased spiritual awareness
my next closest aspect is venus in the 2nd. aqua sextile neptune in sag in the 12th (0.54)
i feel like my most valuable resource is love of a divine universal oneness & that i always have reassurane that all things are related and the key to divinity is through self love.

My tightest aspects....

Pluto Conjunct Ascendant within 1.5 degrees

Sun Square Ascendant (pluto) within .3 degrees

Moon square Mercury within 0.09 degrees

Saturn Sextile Mars within 1 degree

Mars trine Jupiter within 1 degree

I'll have to think how they influence me..but I see the Pluto / Ascendant conjunction squaring my Sun as the most prominent.

I have a few..most are sextiles

Moon Sextile Mercury 0°36
Venus Sextile Ascendant 0°04
Jupiter Square Saturn 0°03
Neptune Sextile Pluto 0°50

I think Venus sextile Asc makes me want to get along with people .. venus is in the 11th to, so usually I'm pretty agreeable and nice to the people who come into my life.

Jup/Sat and Nept/Plut .. I don't really know

Moon sextile Merc is an interesting one because like I said in my thread I have a good memory. I wonder if the traditional interpretation would be for 'merc' to remeber everything emotional, I don't only remeber emotional events...but then again, maybe everything affects my emotions in some way..(thus I remember it)

Sun square Jupiter 0°43

I often bite more than I can chew and I expect waaaaaay too much of others...and myself. Brings out the irresponsible risk taker in me - I constantly need excitement or else I’ll probably die.

Sun square Uranus 0°01

This is my tightest aspect. I do what I want, when I want. I bet I was a difficult child to raise I’m definitely original, to the extreme. No wonder my Aqua friend is fascinated by me lol I bet she wishes she could put me under a microscope. I definitely think outside the box, and rebel against society’s “rules” - if all my friends say left, I say right.

Suddenly everything makes sense - I’m not strange…I just have Sun square Uranus

"Doing the same thing day after day is guaranteed to make you reach screaming pitch you can’t stand it! Lets face it, you live in fear of being taken over by routines and ruts. You often kick over the traces just forth sake of it, and to prove to yourself that you aren’t trapped by the daily grind or a slave to tedium."

And I always thought it was my Pisces Sun that was anti routines.

Jupiter conj Uranus 0°44

I thank this aspect for all my dumb luck seriously, it’s truly a beautiful thing to have.

I’m very optimistic, which is strange in a big city when everyone else seems jaded. Every morning I get up full of hope and excitement - I’m like an add for cereal…only very sluggish - but still happy always believing there’s something good around the corner - and there always is.

Apparently I’m supposed to have a great deal of respect for education - and it's true. I loved school when I was little, and I still do - not so much during high school though. I really didn’t like that period in my life…it was just very hard. Even though I was “popular”, I still hated school. I didn’t like the rules - like how you can only be friends with certain people or how some people can get away with certain thing - but others can’t. For example, a boy can sleep around and it’s fine - but a girl does that and she’s considered a sl*t it was so pathetic, and I still see it in society now. I just feel sorry for those old sagging souls on tv or the radio who make generalisations thinking it’s funny. Whatever.

Grow up, get a life and act your age. I was over the “who’s better, girls or boys” phase when I was six

I decided a long time ago that society is dead - and if it’s not…then it should be. At the end of the day we’re all human beings - that’s all that matters.

Sorry, kinda went off topic there with my big a$$ed post.

Moon Sextile Mars 0°06
Impulsive, foreceful, enthusiastic, energetic, respect for others, don't hold grudges....
Moon Square Pluto 0°39
Emotional intensity, 'loner' tendacies, not concerned with trivialities, hate limitations, want to break free of conformity
Venus Trine Ascendant 1°29
You appreciate the arts and possibly have musical and artistic ability. You have a full social life and the willing cooperation of others. You're popular and attract happiness because you're aware of others and take their feelings into consideration. You have grace and harmony in your self-expression and a pleasing, gentle manner. Your romantic relationships and marriage are happy unless afflicted.***SEE BELOW***

Uranus Square Ascendant 0°16
Uranus Square Ascendant: Your eccentric behavior and unwillingness to sacrifice personal freedom stand in the way of harmonious relationships with partners and the public and often result in divorce if you are married. Your nonconformist tendencies cause sudden disruptions in the normal flow of self-expression and social behavior resulting in nervous tension that's hard to release.

Good question..I just looked at the tightest orbs.....
Thank you for making me take a coser look...
al I can say is.. WOW!
I have a Sun conjunction Uranus as well.. but the orb is 2.. mnot the tightest in my chart, but oh so prominent....

Great topic.

Mine are:

Uranus Square Ascendant 0°55 (like Pixie)
Neptune Sextile Pluto 0°59 (like aries-chick)

aries-chick -

The Jup/Sat Aspect may bite into your optimism. Jupiter is about optimism and expansion, Saturn is cautious & slow, sometimes discouraged and lonely.

"Neptune Sextile Pluto -

During the past century, there has been only one aspect made between Neptune and Pluto, and it is interesting to note that the sextile commenced in the midst of World War II during 1942. The influence of this relationship would be expected to have global and generational effects; and, like all of the transpersonal planetary energies, would be a directive force stimulating the development of the evolutionary process within time and space.

Neptune will attract an almost mystical exploratory search from those responsive to it; and since the sextile commenced science has reacted in two distinct and complementary directions: effort has been poured into developing spave travel and satellite technology, exploring the vast outer universe through radio-telescopes, for example; while the complementary exploration of inner space - investigating and probing the building blocks of matter - and quantum physics has emerged at the forefront of scientific enquiry.

The attempts to understand the nature of the universe, its composition and size, the possible creation of the universe and the 'big bang theory' reflect the traditional Western way of looking externally. What has paralleled this tendency has been the birth of an opposite movement amongst people, that of self-exploration, the inner mystical way. This has been through the New Age movement, humanistic / Jungian psychology, occult techniques, and the rebirth of magical attitudes towards life. It has also involved the grafting onto the Western tree of many of the attitudes and much of the knowledge of Eastern philosophies and religions; a merging of the two hemispheres; a potential unification of belief structures reflecting the scientific movement towards a more mystically orientated quantum physics.

As the outer universe becomes vaster, and the inner universe becomes a mysterious vastness of space, the only point in which the outer and the inner become reconciled is in the human being. At a time when the immense destructive power of splitting the atom can be used to commit racial suicide or genocide, the old Mystery School injunction of the ancients is the key to the future: 'Man, know thyself'.

The generations born after this aspect commenced, or those especially receptive to its influence, are aware of the basic tendencies emanating from it. They are life-enhancing: the need to protect the world's environment from senseless devastation; the need to extend individual rights and freedoms, to unfold international co-operation and to move beyond an embracing consumer materialist dominance in the West. The recognition that potentially a higher quality of life can be had in the world for the majority of people through a redirection of resources (if the will is there) can lead to radical change.

The energies of transformation are present, and much depends upon our use of them, individually and collectively, for negative or positive results. The challenge of 'free will' is to make choices and decisions which determine, in the present, the nature of the future."

My tightest is Mars square Uranus (0.18). I've been told that gives to violence of one kind or another but, so far so good My next one is Mercury sextile Saturn ( 0.35 ). All I can think is that, it leaves me with more to want, as my Merc is already retro in Taurus. Third in line is Jupiter quincunx Neptune ( 0.44 ). I think I read once about that making one give up on things at the slightest hangup ( that would apply to me ) or, it makes for one who is self-centered ( I would'nt say I am, any more than most, anyway )...

Thanks for bringing this up.

In order, mine are:

Sun Sextile Pluto 0°05
This aspect is great, I find it helps me understand why I use my personal power so slowely and, intensly.

Mercury Sextile Saturn 0°30
I think this aspect helps me understand why I didn't attract many friends during school, my mind was with the 'nerds' , and I am way to obsessed with reading, writing, and learning. Way too obsessed!

Mercury Square Uranus 0°58
I have interesting thought patterns sometimes, and in an argument I often find myself forgetting that the other person has equally valid points, and I'm just too into believing I'm right, because I've already analysed it to bits, and I've came to the most logical conclusion, like: 'my logic is undeniable'. But I'm only this unfair when I'm with close family or friends. Otherwise I'm very diplomatic.

Neptune Opposition Ascendant 1°01
this is right about me When you volunteer to help people, you must protect yourself. Offer to help only when you know positively that someone needs your assistance. You tend to love everybody and overburden yourself with concern for their welfare. Actually you are trying to compensate for your inability to stand on your own; you need someone who needs you in order to have a feeling of belonging. Being alone makes you feel helpless, so you seek out obligations to others.

Since you are imaginative and creatively inspired in expressing yourself, you should direct your talents to writing, music, or the arts. Avoid competition until you gain the expertise to meet challenges without being crushed by failure.

Sun Trine Neptune 1°02
I find it hard to just have one discipline, or talent, like I wont just work at one to become a master at something, instead I'm trying to learn everything at once.
But I think this is an intuitive aspect as well, which is nice.

Here are mine:

Venus Square Jupiter 0.59
Venus Conjunction Midheaven 0.20
Jupiter Square Midheaven 1.20
Saturn Conjunction Neptune 0.21 - part of a stellium I have, which includes Uranus. Yes, I was born in early 1989.

I'm too lazy and hungry to think about how these affect me right now- but the one I'm most interested about is the Venus conjunction Midheaven.

I was born in 1989 too, in August. With that Saturn/Neptune/Uranus conjunction in Capricorn. Our generation's going to do something with there lives.

For Lei_Kuei - Just google it. Type whatever aspect you're looking for in " " and try it. Like "Uranus sextile Venus" - That's how I learned. Hell, I'm still learning. I respect all you astrologers who've been doing it for a while.

My aspects with the smallest orb -
Mars sextile pluto 0.10
Sun trine Uranus 1.21
Venus square Saturn 1.25 (Guess I shouldn't type that one, huh?)

Well since my Mars is in Virgo, and my Pluto is in Scorpio, I guess it's fair to say that I get things done.
Sun trine Uranus - Open to new things??
Venus square Saturn - unable to stay committed??

Just looking at planets/luminaries my two tightest aspects are:

Moon 12.36 Gemini 4th house
CONJUNCT
Saturn 11.20 Gemini 4th house
(orb 1.16)

&

Mercury 27.31 Gemini 5th house & Venus 00.29 Cancer 5th house
SQUARE
Pluto 29.18 Virgo 8th house
(orb 1.47 to Mercury & 1.11 to Venus)

It is Moon/Saturn I feel most strongly as Saturn is powerful as my chart ruler and Moon is in its natural house. I feel this aspect in a very frustrating, repressive way in that no matter how hard I try, I cannot make my feelings known to others. I feel guilty for sharing as though I have no right to impose my feelings on others even though I care very much for those who bring their worries to me. Somehow, I have never learned to trust enough to feel safe opening up. There were many times in childhood when I was actually ridiculed by my parents for showing my sensitive side so I kind of learned to hold it in and keep the stiff upper lip (how Saturn! LOL). This repressing has done nothing more than backfire on me as I have been battling with depression on and off since my teens. I am trying to be more open but it is hard. I feel so strongly that I must be self-sufficient and deal with this alone (Saturn again!).

Moving on to Mercury/Pluto & Venus/Pluto, this aspect is actually part of a t-square involving Jupiter too. Pluto is at the apex (8th house), with Jupiter (12th house)opposite Mercury and Venus (5th house) though the Jupiter orb is not as tight as Mercury/Pluto & Venus/Pluto. I feel that this configuration makes me intensely secretive and very obsessive. I actually have a debilitating hang-up about being open with people. I keep my hobbies and private life very secret like some part of me would wither and die if people got inside of me. I can't work if someone is standing over me. I secretly feel jealous of others, imaging the grass is greener when in actual fact it isn't. I see danger everywhere and get very prickly and defensive when guys try to chat me up. For some reason, I get a lot of bother when I go for a night out. I like to be inconspicuous but I always attract unwanted attention. I'm always ready to run away at a moment's notice! Running shoes at the ready! I hate being in volatile situations. My nerves can't take it. I like peace and quiet. I do find I have a way with words that some people take the wrong way. I think I'm being innocuous and flippant (Gemini) but people have told me I sound too abrupt (Mercury square Pluto?).

Now endeth the lesson. It's just dawned on me that these close aspects only seem to be acting negatively for me. I can't actually see much good in them. Now I feel glum.

Love and Light to Everyone

My tightest aspects are:

Scorpio Sun and Venus 0*04' apart.
Libra Pluto and Sag Neptune sextile at 0*21' apart, and Pisces Jupiter is squaring Neptune at 0*24'. Jupiter is also making the 150 degree aspect to Pluto, and it's the tightest orb I have at 0*03.

Since my closest aspects are Sun conjunct Pluto at 0*13'
and Moon trine Neptune at 0*20', would sun/pluto override the soft influence of Neptune?

Because astrologers often say that Pluto dominates over Neptunian influence. I don't know which aspect I express more, is it possible to express both simultaneously?
My chart indicates a Plutonian personality, but then again the Moon trine with Neptune is one of my closests aspects.

every time there is a downfall if my life and in my spirits due to SN's eclipse on sun and moon the conjuction of jupiter with the sun an moon eventually adds some support and joy in my life. it helps lift my spirits.
