Is it a cop out to say everything influences a personality? After all, what is a personality, but the personal way you present your character when faced with life's particular events... common and extraordinary... So your Sunsign, and it's house placement might make you more inclined to say.... be calm in the face of a partner's loss of employment.. if you were a Sagittarius, say.. and your sun's house was in the seventh.... You might take a more diplomatic view, and see it as a challenging way to spark a new field... a way to learn, expand, etc... Or if you are a shy Virgo, but your Ascendant was Aquarius, you might be more talkative than your average Virgo.. wouldn't second guess things as much before you spoke .... So I guess I am of the opinion that it is reflectiv on the situation you are faced with, and your individual placements, as well as aspects. Cop out, yes, but a long one...... IP: Logged |

I agree with Pixie. I think everything influences your personality.I did read somewhere though that the Moon sign has a bigger impact on a female's personality and the Sun sign has a bigger impact on a man's personality. I think the top three Sun/Moon/Asc are all pretty important. It can completely change the way a person comes accross just by sign. I'm one of those ppl who likes to guess ppls signs lol, just to test myself. On X factor, the aussie one .. three of the people picked were aries.. a girl and two guys.. One of the guys I would've said is deffinetly a water sign, because he came accross as overly sensitive.. The other guy I would've said is an Aqua or an air sign because he was the opposite, very out going not sensitive or shy and more airy, lighthearted, even the songs he sang.. The girl I couldn't really guess, I think i would've probably said gemini so I was way off lol.. But I checked their charts when I found out they were all Aries because I thought it pretty strange, since they seem so different. The first watery guy had a scorpio moon, the second guy had a gemini moon.. no surprises there, but the girl was an Aries with a capricorn moon, I would've never picked her for that lol.. So I kinda guessed 2 right, not the third one.. Anyways, I just think the moon sign and the ascendant can totally change the flavour of a sun sign.. it depends what signs as well.. Like for instance a gemini ascendant is pretty mutable adaptable airy so if you have a fixed or earthy sun sign like scorpio or capricorn (less likely to adapt) you'd probably still come accross more as your sun sign.. Hey Hecate, just popping in I would say that I have to agree that everything influences the personality. I have my Sun in the 7th house & I would agree with what Pixie said about it. I'm also a Virgo with an Aquarius ascendant. My ascendant influences me much more than that. My personally, and the way I dress, act, think, and do things are all very heavily influenced by my ascendant. The way I see it is that for the most part the Moon influences the emotions, and moods. The asc. influences your way of thinking, dressing, and acting. The sun influences the way you do things, the way you come off to most people you don't know. The houses I could not say, because my sun, moon, and three other planets are all in the 7th house which gives a distinct Libran flare to all of my personality. Well that's just a rough description of how it influences me. They all overlap in everything I do, or feel. They are all factors in your personality, and I'm not sure any one is stronger than the rest.IP: Logged |

you forgot to mention the ruler of the ascendant, which is equally as important to the personality.this is where uniqueness comes in. with the most prominate of the above you will see its influence first or more strongly in the personality/appearence. IP: Logged |

Hi Lalalinda How do you tell what the ruler of the ascendant is? Does it mean that, say my ascendant is in Aquarius, my Uranus is in Capricorn which is in the 11th house, so therefore the ruler of my ascendant is Uranus?... Or is it Saturn? Is that what it means?"IP: Logged |

Ruler of Ascendent corresponds to the PLANET. So yes, it would be Uranus if your Asc is in Aquarius.I think of the Planets as the facets of our mind. I think of the Signs as the personality given to each facet. For example, communication is Mercury's domain. So if yours is in Gemini, you'll be a quick thinker and fluid talker. The House it's in is the area of life it will most affect. So if it's in the 10th House of "career", your job will probably be something to do with your Mercury being in Gemini. But if it's in the 4th House of "home", you'll probably need to feel you are heard at home, see? If it's in the 7th House of "love", you may be a player. If in the 5th House of "extroversion", you'll really like to be heard by many people. Each of these influences, (the Planet, Sign & House) can be forgiving, or can really magnify what's already there. For example. If your Venus is in Sagittarius in the 12th House, you'll tend to be more introspective, intuitive and sensitive. If the Venus in Sag is in the 1st House, you'll tend to be more outspoken, or at least attract those who are. Does that help? ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |
