Hi all,
I've had a tough year in dealing with my father and abandonment issues. I noticed that I have never let a man into my life because I was afraid of being hurt. But, ive had some help this year to deal with that. I noticed too that I have a lot of Saggie in my chart with my moon in 7th house. Am i a typical Saggie to be scared of commitment?

I'll post my data if that helps.

Hi Sparkling Sag, I can sympathize with the father issues and the fear of being hurt by men. I have a similar problem, I'm 19 yrs old and have yet to let a man into my life for a serious relationship. I've never had a close relationship with men in my family, including my dad, so I suppose that is where the problem stems from.
I don't know if it's the same for you but I find myself flirting and attracting men and when things get to intimate I'll get scared and distance myself.

I found some similarities in our charts.

Moon 7th house in Taurus (fixed sign like Leo)
Venus & Mars Libra
Saturn & Pluto Scorp

I have a friend who was also Moon in Taurus in the 7th house, Mars in Sag, Sun in Aqua, Mars square Venus, who is also afraid of commitment, she attracts guys who are not right for her and pulls away when they get too close

Hi Scorp baby!
Thats interesting in the comparison of our charts...perhaps its the double whammy of mars and venus in libra? perhaps it wants the fairytale? I have a bad habit of when i meet a guy of thinking it'll get serious right away...which is crazy as things take time

Sag's are notoriously gun shy when it comes to commitments, even without father issues. They value their freedom immensely and when it comes close to the idea of being "fenced in", can become nervous about the whole commitment thing. This doesn't mean you'll feel this way forever, but know that it's built into your astro DNA.

Hi SS....

Hmmmm... well as a fellow Archer with her moon (also a fire moon but in Aries) in the 7th house, I would say it isn't so much about abandonment, but also it's a part of who we are.

You have to ask yourself- are you afraid of being abandoned or are you really afraid of being "kept". Sometimes we are afraid of the opposite of what we will admit.

I had a few boyfriends and dated often, but I wouldn't commit. I didn't want to ever just "settle" so I wouldn't let someone get too close and if they did, I would break it off. I knew what I wanted in my life as far as a career and school, so I put off getting into any cloying relationships.

I finally got married at 30 years of age and separated at 32. I had a few deep relationships with men that really wanted to get married, but I just wasn't ready - especially since I had seen my own parents go through a terrible divorce and my dad is on his 4th marriage.

Still... love WILL happen. I am with someone now, engaged and planning on getting married in June (or earlier now that we aren't going to do the ceremony in North Carolina). Having a long time before the actually wedding is good and bad for me LOL... there are times when I am happy as heck, yet there are times when I say... "am I really ready to be tied down?" LMAO....

Don't let it affect you too much. Think hard on what you really want in your life right now and how you would feel in a relationship. Let things happen, but never settle on anything less that what you deserve

Dear Pidaua,
Thank you for your insight. I had a deep think about myself and yes you are right. I love my independance and don't want to be 'fenced in'. I am a strong woman and do not want to seem 'weak' somehow. But I can see how being with someone you deeply care about can enhance and support you. I very much care about a guy i went to school with, we recently became close and I truly love him somehow. So, it's good to know that i can feel it. I also think that my Leo moon demands the best (you should as a person anyway think that.)

I have done a lot of theraputic thinking these last few months and have reached a good point.

By the way, congratulations on getting married! That is so lovely :-) I'm going to be attending college in Chapel Hill, NC this year. I am coming from the UK so am really excited.

Thanks again,
Sparkling

I think you will have a great time. The South in definitely an experience and Raleigh / Durham is HUGE. I wasn't expecting NC to have such big cities and I was surprised at all the traffic when I flew in at 5pm and drove up North during rush hour. Mr Taurus is from a tiny town called Sims (only 100 people). I have lived in Baltimore / Annapolis and Portland, OR (but I am originally from Southern California - Orange County).

I hope you like good Southern food (it is tasty and not too spicy- but the Carolina BBQ has a nice punch to it). They also have tons of other cuisine.

Their accents are pretty strong, but sort of formal so it shouldn't be too hard. Mr. T has some family members with such THICK old South accents that I have a heck of at time trying to understand them LOL...

I wish you LOTS of luck and you'll have a great time. Keep in mind, it gets HOT... like 100 degrees and the humidity lingers at 80 to 100% most of the Summer. Still, you can't beat that lush, green environment and great people.
