My male Leo friends are always trying to get me to shoot craps or play poker with them. They love it. Why? I don't want their money and I sure don't want to lose mine!

Every time these guys push me to gamble I end up winning and I don't really want their dirty money. They need to stop.

For the record, I'm a Leo and I hate gambling. Its a waste of time. I'm only 2 hours from Vegas, but I have no desire to go and gamble. I do want to see the cool shows though. I can see though how maybe we're predisposed to liking it.

Just keeping things in perspective.

Wow Beebuddy, that was such a profound post / thread topic. Maybe you could just NOT play with them. You must actually like the dirty money or the thrill of the game or 1) you wouldn't do it and 2) you sure has hell wouldn't post it here. LOL......

Well, Leo is associated with the 5th house, which rules, among other things, gambling. That doesn't necessarily mean they're good at it though. They just like the excitement of it. They also don't like to lose, so they may persist for quite a while, trying to chase after their losses.

Why is your freinds' money "dirty"? Are they drug dealers or something?

What is craps?

well Lioneye...if you must know..

Sometimes crap is the accumulation of rubbish

Sometimes it is what one does when they eat something spicy and must run quickly to the nearest crap receptacle

Other times it is a game played at the Casino:

Craps (previously known as crabs) is a casino dice game, which is especially popular in the USA. Craps is a simplification of the Old English game hazard. Players wager money against the casino on the outcome of one roll, or of a series of rolls of two dice.

Craps can also be played in less formal settings and is said to be popular among soldiers. In such situations side bets are less frequent, with one or several participants covering or "fading" bets against the dice.

Hee hee.....

Yeah, I want to know why the money is dirty too!!!

Speaking of gambling, Saturn’s in my 5th house right now - no more gambling for me

Well, thank you Ms. Pidaua for that very Funk & Wagnal definition. Ok, so it's that roll of the dice game.

With Saturn being in Leo, Leo's probably don't stand a chance with any kind of gambling right now, and won't for quite a while.

beebuddy, be a buddy and tell them this. They'll still do whatever they want but they can't say you didn't warn them.

HEE HEE.....My Leo honey went to the Casino on a whim with his Sag colleague (they had to go to El Paso due to a soldier that had a run in with the law). My baby ended up winning over $1000.00 USD within 30 minutes

Then again, he has Pluto in his 5th house right now

Wow Pidua, sarcasm is really distasteful!

The money is dirty because it's "free". I win it and they resent it so there is this emotional dirtyness to it.

For the record, "beebuddy" is a push-over when it comes to his friends, so if they ask enough "the bee abides."

Sarcasm is considered phony and distasteful. Also, there is no problem expressing that opinion.

By who? Granted, it doesn't read as well as it sounds.

Sarcasm is mearly verbal irony, it's purpose, to deliver something obvious, yet comedic to the speaker.

Typical of a strongly Sagittarian/Plutonian type.

"By who?"

This poster of course.

It's just not considered comedic that's all. Satire is one thing... rather, sarcasm is considered a fearful way of expressing opinion. If you think something sucks then be brave enough to say so without worrying about how it's perceived. It's a matter of honesty and genuineness. Of course not everyone will agree and that's fine but I rarely appreciate sarcasm.

Ok, duely noted.

Pidaua, take note. Beebuddy doesn't like sarcasm, so lay it out flat for this one from here on in.

Now, beebuddy, you realize this means you can't indulge in it either, don't you?

LOL... well Lioneye...we never like what we don't understand..well, at least some people.

Beebuddy... the real definition of "Dirty Money" is money that is taken through criminal means. Such would be the case if it was "drug" money, "extortion" money, or "stolen from the lame kid" at the school yard money.

Free money won through the lottery, a slot machine or playing cards is NOT dirty... although you did play an illegal game if you did so here in the states....

You may not like my sarcasm, but it likes you..

Wow pid. You are such a rude and hateful person. Why do people tolerate you talking down to them all the time?

I just can't get over the way you talk to people on this board. It's not "honesty" to speak as if everybody here is beneath you.

Haha - My boyfriend is a Cancer with a Leo ascendant - I've never met a man more lucky. He loves betting on just about everything but he's very careful to stop if he starts loosing money (go go Cancer caution) - fortunately he rarely looses.

wow pid (love you sarcasm - especially how you keep it up / nioce) - lucky guy you got there, in more ways then one - i didn't do so well this weekend but then, they were just guesses and i'm glad i didn't place any money down - i have the same thing with the pluto placement right now as your dude (btw, 30 minutes and done is a great tactic - no fuss plus the reasoning behind him going there in the first place was to help someone else so like they say - one good deed.....)...............being a leo asc. sometimes just placing the bet and walking away (especially on a sporting event) gives a better chance of winning then placing a bet or playing and being "self-conscious" about the pick - staring the game down. sometimes, i gotta guess on a game and walk away. play the game and don't say anything about winning/get cocky about it or telling anyone my pick. it's all for fun, all for fun.

btw - it's never a good idea to bet with scared money. scared money is money you have no business gambling with - rent money, utility money, etc. or gambling with your winnings - one pocket for the winning, the other pocket for the money you intended on spending. dirty money is actually money gotten from illegal transactions - the best thing to do with that type of money is give it away otherwise it comes back on you hard, heavy, and dirty by way of losing it or getting it taken from you.

In this case (and arguably in any case) the sarcasm wasn't clever, witty, well-timed or appropriate. It was pomp and meanness, that's all.

Theodora,

You have major issues. It is not my fault that you suffer from some delusion that I am condescending to people. I gave you VERY valid advice concerning your friend in that Chiron thread.

I said if you wanted to help your friend there were ways the law would work with her and if you cared you would point her in that direction. Instead YOU are the hateful person that couldn't wait to broadcast your friends predicament on this board without even offering any solutions.

You can say what you'd like, but the fact remains YOU are the one with the problems. I do call it as I see it and I am very tongue in cheek. I have been labelled as Bombastic, direct, blunt, candid, funny, sarcastic, intelligent, goofy..etc.. but there are few people that have called me "hateful". Usually they are the people that are full of BS and I catch them in some kind of lie.

So, what are you Theo? Are you a former poster that changed her name in order to repost. Did you get kicked off here some time ago or have are you just a newbie that wants to start something in order to establish herself? Are you trying to be an Alpha honey? Keep trying.. you aren't the first person or the last to try to call me names are accuse me of something "evil" LMAO....

By the way, the only time I was called over-dramatic was by my psychotic ex-fiance that suffered from narcissism and BPD. Looks like you are in good company.

Oh yeah... and Beebuddy's post to me didn't bother me. He is entitled to his opinion and if my sarcasm does offend him (which it did and he stated it) I will usually refrain from such speech. BB has posted alot of informative astrological posts and is a genuinely good person.

I can't say the same for your drivel.

Have a nice day (now THAT is meant to be very sarcastic)

Amisha,

You are 100% right. I can't imagine gambling with "scared" money. I am not much of a gambler anyway (Saturn in the 8th) instead I would rather spend my money on other things...like fun, travel, clothes - BUT only when I have it available and enough in the bank in case something should happen.

Lioneye... hee hee.... you're funny... and I am cheeky (Like you)

BB...Seriously, it wasn't made to be mean. I was being sarcastic because I felt that you lumped Leo's into a catagory and called the money dirty. Thereby reducing Leo males to gambling oafs that cannot keep their money in their pockets. I wonder how many Leo's became offended over such a statement?

beebuddy -

You said you were aware that not everyone will agree with your stance on sarcasism, so I disagree wholeheartedly...

I do not agree that sarcasm is "a matter of honesty and genuineness". Bunches of other things have beaten the odds on that.

There are two kinds of sarcasm. One is expressed freely and creatively, and one is abstaining leading to blocks. It's a sexual thing, or can be made into an analogy. Sarcasm in my case is the former. My Mercury is in Scorpio.

I DO understand what you mean in "dirty money", not to be confused with Judas' comments. But it's not the value you are giving to the dollar as much as how the act of allowing yourself to do something you'd rather not is associated to something "dirty" in your mind.
