Well, here's someone with an opinion (from the site originally called AstroAbby)
quote:
WHAT’S HAPPENING From roughly August 21 until September 1, transiting Venus and transiting Saturn are conjunct. This aspect will be exact at 11:38 p.m. GMT on Saturday, August 26. At that time, both Venus and Saturn will be at 17 degrees 19 minutes Leo.
This aspect becomes increasingly powerful as August 26 approaches. It’s more powerful before becoming exact than afterwards, though it could manifest at either time.
WHO’S AFFECTED
We’re all affected to some extent by this transit. To determine how you are affected, pull out your birth chart. (If you don’t have a copy of it, you can enter your birth information and get a free chart at http://www.astro.com )
First, check to see which house contains 17 degrees Leo. Saturn is currently transiting through that house. He’s there for roughly two and a half or three years. While Saturn is there, it’s time to act more realistically and strategically, in connection with the parts of your life that are related to that house. (If you’re not sure what this house represents, then search the Internet using the terms "Brian Habit" and "houses," and read what you find there.) If you face facts there, and you avoid the two extremes of (A) trying to escape from them and (B) becoming resigned, then you could get matters there on a more solid footing, one that will help sustain you over the long run.
Now, not only is Saturn trudging through a particular house in your chart, but Venus is also sashaying through that same area for about one month. While Venus is there, encourage yourself to take advantage of opportunities to socialize and to receive support from others, to get some much needed rest and relaxation, and to do things that give you pleasure in connection with that part of your life.
When Venus and Saturn come together, at worst we can be materialistic or greedy. We can be inhibited or withholding in terms of expressing our affection. At best, we can be loyal, dutiful, and dedicated. We can approach financial, social, and creative matters in realistic, serious ways. Venus can be warm, affectionate, and creative in Leo; and Saturn can be a strong leader, self-assured, and commanding in Leo. Think about how you might apply these principles in connection with the house that Venus and Saturn currently occupy.
Finally, check to see whether your Ascendant, Midheaven, and/or any planets in your chart lie between roughly 13 degrees 49 minutes and 20 degrees 49 minutes of Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, or Aquarius. If so, then both Venus and Saturn trigger such points while they form a conjunction with each other. Consider how you might draw on the conjunction to do something constructive in connection with such points.
If you have any such points in Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, then you’ll probably feel more compelled to take action while Venus and Saturn trigger them that you would if they lay in Aries, Gemini, Libra, or Sagittarius. However, in either case, you could put use of the energy from the conjunction to good use.
