We had an interesting discussion at another Forum and the overal tone of the convo was how Chiron seemed to be more difficult to deal with then the notorious Saturn.

It seems that the area of our lives corresponding to the house where Chiron is placed in our charts is the source of a constant pain. The Saturn placement, in comparison, would well signify the difficulties which one have to overcome through a hard work before reaching a final result, usualy acompanied with much disappointment and pain but you end up in a good place after the hard Saturnian work.

but with Chiron - the pain seems to never end..or heal in that matter..its like something you have to accept after all no matter how much you try to overcome it. "The house holding Chiron seems to reflect the individual's tragedies or unfulfilled longings"

How does Chiron reflect in your natal charts?

Saturn in Second house. – More than one marriage, diseased face, unpopular, broken education, weak sight, unsocial, harsh speech, stammering, addicted to wine.

here again i have trouble with education as it is 'broken'. and it never seems to come back to me. infact lately i have started thinking that i'll remian an undergraduate (12th grade) all my life as no doors for education seem to be open. i have the funds, but its just not happening.
i used to have harsh speech. but in the above areas i have 'learnt my lessons' and am ready to take over.

"diseased face"

I wonder about these broad, frankly wierd definitions.
She says~ "Oh, look... he has a diseased face!"
He says ~ 'Why yes, it is diseased, isn't it?"
She says~ "Yes, he must have Saturn in the second house."
He says ~ "Why yes, of course!"

When does 'diseased face' ever really come up in situations... I mean, enough for an Astrologer to define this particular position to mean one inclined to have a disease of the face...?
Silly......

exellent work jazz
that makes a lot of sense
2nd house chiron and 1st house saturn here.
I have never been able to pray for myself. I never felt I deserved it. I have a hard time forgiving myself too.
Any ideas to what element it belongs to?

Archer, stay positive. Your 9th may have setbacks but the obstacles can be overcome. I have many Jupiter squares which reads as setbacks in education, along with my sister. I stayed positive and she did not. Now she is angry at me that I received an education, but I didn't always stay in school. I just kept having faith in the process, and remembered that I had tried.

Everything went wrong for me, until I left the country, travel is ruled by Jupiter. Out of the country I found what I needed, and the education I received at that school was tremendous. Until I came back to this country and had to get another degree. I was very down about this for a long time, until I realized that after I received the new degree no one cared about anything but my skills. By that time I had new friends who looked up to me and admired me for what I had accomplished.

What a ride that was! I supported myself through two degrees, and divorced twice due to my husband's irritation at my insistence on education. Remember that life is an obstacle course, and instead of focusing on the obstacle, leap over it, as if it doesn't exist.

With your Chiron in the 9th you must be positive in the face of absolute denial. If you receive a poor grade, refuse to accept it, refuse to accept any indications that you are cursed in education because you are not. This is just fate testing you. Your optimistic nature doesn't know how to handle the setbacks but they will fall.

Eventually you may even teach others, like I do. I still offer workshops if another person doesn't know what to do. I teach instead of putting others down. You will find that many are very critical and hard on you and others who do not live up to their expectations, you will be able to take that experience and help others later who will help you in life, and teach you even more.

Do not stop learning as it's a life long process, but do not let anyone criticize or hold you back emotionally. We do the best we can with what we have, and intelligence is measured my resourcefullness, and willingless to learn.
In other words optimism is necessary for learning. Your goal in life will be to keep yours going, the solution is to do this for other people and encourage them in their work. They will remember you, and return the favor. Once the 9th house is explored your friends will always be a source of incredible joy and strength.

I have been thrown out of classes, because I was told I couldn't pay attention or was deficient in some way, in those same subjects I now do very well and teach others. So much for teachers. Teachers do not hold the answers to everything, the answers are in the knowledge itself.

lalalinda, that sounds like Chiron saying you are responsible for others, more than yourself.

If your Saturn is unaspected that could be a factor. Mine is unaspected in the 5th. Chiron seems to be more of a factor for me for that reason.

Chiron in the 4th here, I have longings for a different home, faraway, India? China?

hey Lalinda,
I almost had forgotten about this thread, thanks for bumping it, we may hear more opinions on this subject..

Chiron in the second house....perhaps you have a feeling of never having enough even if you have much more then the people around you have. Maybe you always dream about that luxurous house with beautiful decoration and you may even have an image of what it would look like but the dream simply always seems to far to reach. The other people may envy you for all that you`ve got yet you simply don`t seem to enjoy it.

another take on Chiron in the second house could be a guilt over having too much while the image of hundreds of starving people in Africa (for example) makes you feel that throwing leftovers after dinner is a sin. In that case you may seem to feel guilty over your luxurous posessions, and not been able to fully enjoy them. You may even ocasionaly give them away to the needy people.

and last but not least - Chiron in the 2nd may makes one feel unworthy of too much attention and care. You may dusguise it by asserting yourself agressivly but deep inside you crumble down with fear at the sight of the slightest rejection. A very low self-esteem, possibly inherited in childwood travma.

These are only some examples not based on anything I know about you and I know next to nothing. How do you feel Chiron?
It seems that Saturn put us thru obstacles in life while Chiron feels like something we have been born with - an inherited life-long wound. I hope that doesnt come out to pesimistic

Archer,
you said you feel Chiron in your 9th house like a deep but not satisfied so far desire for international travel(possibly imigration ?). Maye be you will travel/immigrate some day, but will you be happy at your new place, who knows. A girlfriend of mine has Chiron in the 9th house. She married a man from another country/continent and from different religion, she lives there now and althou she is happy with him - she always longs for her family and her country, the life is so very different for her there now. She also converted to his religion (muslim) which caused her much grief. 9th house stands for travel, education, religion and in-laws. She is also not happy with her in-laws too, but that doesnt mean of course that everybody with Chiron there would have.
Astrology could be interpreted in so many different ways, after all.

I have chiron in the 9th, too.

And I couldn't see myself doing anything but college and putting myself through it but lately I've been really noticing how hard it is for me. I, for some reason that I can't seem to figure out, keep on getting the worst grades and the worst luck with just about everything I've done in college so far. I've been in college for a year and a half and I can't figure out why I've been doing so horribly this last year.

It seems that no matter how hard I try, I'm still confused about what I want to do and whether or not I'm good enough to continue on with it anymore. I also can't see myself doing anything else, though. I've decided that I want to go to art school and I was really excited about it but then realized how hard it would be for me and now I'm discouraged again. I can't think of any time in my life I have had so much stress, confusion and trouble.

i also have several jupiter squares. my only good aspect between my chiron in gemini and another planet is the aspect between it and my mercury in pisces (the other aspects are chiron opposite saturn and moon). i've been trying really hard to look at this part of my chart to figure out what i should do about my higher education. so far i've come out short as far as all of that has gone because i don't know enough.

I have chiron in the 11th house (gemini). Boo!
I make friends easily - no that's wrong, I make ACQUAINTANCES easily. I have very few close friends, but a big bunch of people (drinking buddies!) who I see regularly. I don't open up to them easily and I've had trouble keeping friends, not cause of any rows or anything - we often just drift away from each other. I find it very hard to ask anyone for anything and so my relationships rarely get very deep. My barriers are always up!
I'm also a compulsive talker too - you can't shut me up once I get going! I had troubled childhood/adolecence with a lot of trauma and misunderstandings and getting past this is the mountain I face climbing for this lifetime. Damn you chiron!!!

Sorry for the life story!!! Here's a link: http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/chiron21.5.html

Very true for my case.
Chiron in the 4th, in Taurus, conjuncting the IC and Venus (though I read somewhere this position might be good for healing others - I study medicine). Yeah, family brought a lot of sorrow and I had a disaster of a childhood... Hope the family I'll start will bring more joy.
Saturn in the 9th in Scorpio... well, luckily I like challenges! It's true, when I act more in a saturnian way (and I should, because I have Capricorn as my rising sign) I see a lot of positive results.
Saturn is not that bad... it just shows your mistakes and forces you to do right. Chiron, however, just punishes you without telling you what you did wrong. I used to pray I was adopted and that my real parents will come and take me away with them. Luckily, the heart gets colder as time goes by and things don't affect you as much as they did.

Chiron conjunct the descendant and Sun. I'm a permanent walking wound, especially when it comes to relationships. I don't think I'll ever manage to have a successful one, and I am no longer inclined to try, Libra North Node or no. It's just too hard to climb every mountain.

Hey,
My Saturn is in my 4th house, family matters has always been a challange for me. I feel my family dont understand me at all. It is like i am in a different dimension, not in their dimension. Although i have difficulties with my family, i love them and i cant think of a life where they are not with me. I am truly depended on them. We had gone through very sorrowful two years because of this miscommunication. I can say i am working seriously in a saturnian way with this family matter. Hope everythings going to be fine next year.

I have my chiron in 11th house, which is ruled by Aquarian, means friends, friendships, helping one another. Personally i can say that i am a very charitable person. I love to help people, listen their problems, console them when they have problems, but nobody helps me. When i need help, nobody's around me. I tried so hard not to think negatively on this subject but as i kept observing i started to feel that getting no help situation would seem to last for the rest of my life.

Boy, I wish there was First Aid for Chiron wounds (sorry that was really corny...)

I have aspects that I'd THINK would put me in a place of power or in the public eye.
Sun conj MC
Sun, Mars, and Mercury in the 10th
Leo rising
Saturn opp MC

Turns out Chiron is also in my 10th, conj. my Mercury.

I hate being in management positions. I get mad stage jitters and stutter a lot. I'm in the Publishing Industry so I can communicate via online and print, instead of through constant oral communication.

Also, never sure if I'm doing a good enough job. My coworkers say I go into harakiri mode when I think I've made a mistake. I also don't like making managerial decisions cos I'm afraid I might F up the company.

How unfortunate, although I'm sure Chiron has redeeming qualities...

I have a badly afflicted Chiron in the 7th. I'm not exactly sure how that comes into play with my life but I've come to notice that I hold back in possibilities of intimate relationships. Sometimes I feel unworthy to have one.

Chiron in my 3rd house: always felt that nobody listened to me. My mother was always very critical with what I had to say (Moon squares Chiron), my father never felt that what I said was very important, never showed that great interest (Sun squares Chiron)...Today I'm still afraid to speak in front of the public...never liked my voice...+ Saturn in Gemini, 5th house, it doesn't help. Afraid to express my creative side, and when I do I always think that it's not good enough, that nobody will like it...
