Would you consider a conjunction an affliction? Which aspects besides the square and opposition do you consider to be an affliction; and, does it matter which planets are involved? IP: Logged |

Most of the time I don't personally consider a conjunction an afflicted connection.IP: Logged |

I only consider a conjunction afflicted, if there`s a square to it. I also think, that in most cases the opposition is a milder affliction than a square, because it also signifies the attraction of polarities. But other than that I don`t count anything as affliction, even though of course some placements are better for planets than other. For example my Venus in Capricorn in 1st house really has to struggle, because Venus and Capricorn and Venus and 1st house don`t go all that well together. But it`s even more afflicted, because it`s square to Pluto on my midheaven. However, I think a Venus in Pisces in 2nd house might be more "harmonious" than mine, because signs and houses fit the characteristics of Venus. But I wouldn`t call a Capricorn-Venus afflicted per se (except if she has squares).DD IP: Logged |

IMO a conjunction becomes afflicted when it makes stressful aspects and when the conjunct planets are 'incompatible' (like Uranus conj Moon) or when one of the planets is in detriment or fall. P.S. To me affliction does not make the planet deficient or 'retarded' but it makes our experience painful when we deal with the planet's energies. We learn through pain and restrictions here. ------------------ We are not sinful, shameful human creatures who have to somehow earn Spirituality. You rock Peri don't forget the 135 degree aspect (please I can't spell it ) the semi-square (45 degrees) and sometimes the inconjunction (150 degrees) edited IP: Logged |
