Hello again...this must be a day for questions!

I read on a website that the 9th house represents a second marriage, not the 7th.

I'm kind of testing the validity from some of you who are far more seasoned than myself with synastry.

In my 7th house, natally, I have Venus in Aries. This conjuncts my first husband's Sun and Venus in Aries. Also in my 7th (this is kind of weird) I have my TN, NN, and Valentine which all conjunct my first husband's asteroid of my new guy's last name at 0 degrees!

My current man has Venus, Mars, Moon, Isis, and TN in my 9th. I have Venus, Valentine and TN in his 7th. (This would be his first marriage.)

Before I go gettin all excited...is this a valid read on the synastry for my second potential marriage?

Thanks!
8th Moon

TY, Peri!

Would I then interpret the planets as though they were in the 7th in terms of the relationship?

I don't have any planets in my 7th or 9th house. Does this mean that I won't get married at all?

No, Astra, it doesn't. If that was the case, hardly ANYONE would be married because there are billions of people who probably don't have anything in their 7th or 9th houses...

Look at the ruler of the 7th house and the sign, house position, and aspects it makes, as well as planets in the 7th (if any)

For second marriage, Look at the ruler of the 9th house and the sign, house position, and aspects it makes...as well as planets in the 9th (if any)

I heard a theory that the 11th house could represent the 2nd marriage. Because naturally, marriage and the "vows" are a life long commitment. Anything relationship that comes after that is really just a love affair, since you already betrothed yourself "in vows" to that first partner. (This is all per Carol Rushman...Predictive Astrology..)

So if you agree or are interested, you can check out the same things for the 11th house being the 2nd partner as well

My 9th H has a sun/merc/venus stellium in it. Guess my second marriage will be great!
My first 'marriage' was terrible. Together for 7 years, 2 kids and 2 house ownerships, but he was a narcissist and a 3rd child basically, lol.
My 7th H is sagittarius and his sun was in leo and moon/asc in aries.

Looking forward to my second marriage! I like my 9th H

My 9th H ruler is Venus (in Gemini/10th H) and it semisquares Sun and Mars,
opposes Uranus,
conjuncts my Chiron,
squares ASC and
trines Jupiter

My 7th H ruler is Neptune (in Capricorn/4th H)
and it semisquares my Pluto and Jupiter,
quincunxes my True Node and
opposes my Moon.

And i don't know what to do with this information. What's it all supposed to mean?

I have Cancer in my 7th House and it's ruled by the moon. I have a moon in Capricorn in the 1st House, which aspects the midheaven, pluto, venus and saturn.

Virgo is in my 9th House and is ruled by Mercury. Mercury is in Gemini in the 5th House and it aspects the sun, uranus and jupiter.

Scorpio is in my eleventh house which is ruled by Pluto. I have Pluto in Scorpio in the 10th House, which aspects the midheaven, venus, moon, mars and neptune. I also have Uranus at the edge of the eleventh house in Sagittarius, which aspects the sun, mercury and jupiter.

So does all of this mean that if I do marry, my husband will be talkative, critical, strange/unique and dominating?

First of all, I'd pay far more attention to the major aspects (the conjunction, square, opposition, sextile and trine), especially if you're not familiar with interpretations at this point. The major aspects are more prominent when determining the marriage partner.

Your 7th house ruler is Neptune in Capricorn. This means that aside from being a dreamy, artistic, Piscean type; your first husband will also be down to earth, mature, and more realistic than the "Piscean" stereotype. Neptune is in the 4th house, showing someone who's family oriented. Neptune opposes your Moon which shows your first husband to be a moody, sensitive, and emotional one. He'll be very protective and nurturing of you, but could also live in a world of fantasy and unrealistic expectations. He could also be someone who wants to be mothered, or do "mothering"...or fathering. Once again, this shows a very "family" oriented theme.

Your 9th house ruler is Venus in Gemini. This shows the second husband (if any) will be far more intellectual and social than the first. He'll be a talkative, and "thinking" Mercurial type. Venus in the 10th house, shows him to be someone who's career oriented, and may even be a "public" figure. Venus opposes Uranus, making this man unpredictable, independent, and quite shocking at times. He'd give you the excitement you need in your life, but you'd never know what to expect from him. Venus is also conjunct Chiron, showing him to be someone who you feel you may need to "help" or "heal", or vice versa: He may indeed, help you deal with things you couldn't do on your own. Either way, you two will learn a lot from each other. Venus squares your AC, making him someone whos personality is quite different from your own. The trine from Jupiter, at least, is a sign of a beneficial, and happy relationship. It could also signify that the man has Jupiterian traits or some sort, or is a naturally optimistic, and honest type.

Astra,

quote:

No need to bottle him up into a box full of labels, but generally yes. The Cancer DC shows that in general, he will be emotional and nurturing. Moon in Capricorn, cools down some of that emotion, and shows this man to be reliable, mature, and hard-working. Moon in the 1st house could show him to be a little self-centered, sensitive, and focused on himself. Depending on the aspects, this could be strongly influenced

Virgo on the 9th with Mercury in Gemini, shows that the second husband (if any) will be a mercurial type. He will be talkative, a *thinker*, and quite intelligent. With Mercury in the 5th, he's going to be quite the romantic, also very creative and entertaining. He may be quite focused on child-rearing or enjoying life and pleasures. Once again, the aspects will modify this.

Same goes for the 11th house...though that's just general speculation...I don't know how accurate that is.

Hope this helped!!

Much love,

The first marriage is ruled by the 7th house, as are all partnership circumstances throughout the life. The second marriage is ruled by the 9th house, the third marriage by the 11th house, and so on.

If I'm planning someone's second wedding, then their significator is the ruler of their 9th house and any planets in that house, and the 7th becomes more of a secondary and even generic influence.

I have the feeling that if ever I was gonna marry it would be once and once only and this theory kind of pojnts in that direction. I don't see myself going through marraiges like bread.
I mean, I have my sun in the 7th and nothing in my 9th. And my 7th and 9th house rulers and aspects kind of consist of the same energy too(they're even in mutual reception and aspect to eachother).

Sorry ppl, but from experience this theory is not valid for most ppl.
I tested charts of close ppl I know, no luck.

kindjali,

You're quick to deem a theory unusable. Surely it doesn't work on everyone. But out of "close ppl you know", does that equate to most people? Most people being the majority of people on this earth...

Nothing is ever, ever perfect. Why, that's why it's a theory and not a law.

Maybe you should try testing people you don't know. Or looking at the charts of those who are famous?

Remember, this is what the chart suggests. Astrology can't predict what's actually going to happen. I can look at my Gemini DC and My Mercury in Scorpio and still go out today and get married to an Aquarius.

Free will, my friend.

I agree.
Free will is always there, but there are some transits that you cannot escape. Only If you are strong spiritual person.
It sound fatalistic, but it depends do you believe in destiny or not and on which way it shows in your life. But it is maybe for some philosophical forum...

I agree with you as well. I know that generally we all can choose the path on which we'd like to walk, but many times the things we encounter on our journies are out of our hands...

I hate when I have "that feeling", feeling that is in me...sometimes I wish it is only feeling, but it is so strong...wish I don't have Piscies Moon and Neptune right at top of AC in Sagg. But I must live with it.
I ask myself should I believe in it. Anybody with same planetary positions could give me a insight.

Thanks, everyone!

Lots of great answers and information.

Just to make sure that I'm getting this correct...I think this question would go to Alanabelle or Peri...

If Gemini is the sign of my 9th house, and my Mercury is in Pisces...then Mercury in Pisces is that house ruler representing the type of man my second husband would be?

Then I look to what house Mercury is in (5th) and aspects that it makes in my chart (trines Mars in Scorpio in 1st house, opposite Venus in 7th, square Jupiter/MC in Cancer in 9th). What would this mean?

The planet that is in my 9th house is my Jupiter in Cancer conjunct my MC. Does this come into play as far as the second marriage or partner because it's in the 9th?

And last question...is it correct to look at synastry aspects with his planets in my 9th and mine in his 7th?

It never ceases to amaze me how much you can learn about astrology...and it never ends! Love it and everyone in LindaLand!!!

Kindjali,

I just read a great quote somewhere (wish I could remember to give a link) that said "Destiny are the things that you don't know are going to happen until they do. The rest is free will." I liked that one!

One thing to consider here is
that "marriage" these days does not necessarily mean taking vows at the altar. I know of some astrologers who might view a commonlaw relationship as a "marriage".

For example, I was together with a man from the time I was 19 until I was 26. We lived together for two and a half years out of seven and when we broke up, I truly felt as though I had gotten divorced.

The fact is that relationships and how we define them has changed considerably over the past few decades.

So many people are no longer getting married but instead choosing to either live together or taking far longer to make a 'formal' commitment, if at all.

So even though I have yet to marry, I wonder if my 7th house (empty, in Capricorn, with Saturn in Leo in the 2nd) is no longer of much use to me in terms of predicting a future mate.

Instead, I would perhaps look to my 9th house in Aquarius which is empty (except for Lust asteroid). And I would think that maybe Uranus (which is in Scorpio in the 5th and trining Sun, Venus, Lust, Isis and my Ascendant as well as squaring Saturn) would have more bearing on my potential partner.

After all, my last five boyfriends have been Scorpios whose Suns conjuncted either my NN or Vertex. And my name asteroid has been transiting (and retrograding) through Scorpio since the week I met my most recent ex last year.

It must be leading up to something, no?

Ok someone help me work this out, please?

My 7th house cusp is Gemini (ruler=Mercury, which is in Taurus, 5th house).

My 9th house cusp is Leo (ruler=Sun, also in Taurus, 5th house).

I haven't been married yet, but I lived with a Virgo (is that the earthy Mercury?) for five years? I'm now with a Gemini (who's mostly second house placements, so is that the Taurus? He's also a progressed Leo sun). I'm confused...

Gemini,

I'd answer you, but I'd better wait to get clarification on my questions before I lead you astrologically astray!

Love,

That is so interesting about your transits and Scorpios! Sure sounds like it's significant to me.

Also very interesting about the relationship itself being in the house. Does a chart then show a person, yet indicate if you won't marry them...but they are still your life partner?

Magi astrology says it's Juno vs. Chiron aspects. I wonder if there are other traditional aspects that indicate a lifelong relationship w/o a marriage contract reflected in the 7th, 9th, or 11th houses.

And if these houses represent phases of life at all? (For example, someone who has a significant other come into their life when they are much older and not younger...would that still show up in the 7th?)

Ya got me thinking, Love!

Thanks!
8th
