There are times when I have a hard time realizing myself. I mean conceptualizing who I am and my surroundings. I get these moments where I cant comprehend that this is my life or that these are the people or things that surround me. It's not really conscious or depressing most of the time, its just odd. I sort of stand there trying to ground myself. I know what everything/who everyone is, I just feel baffled by it. It's otherworldly. Have any of you ever experienced this? I wish I could explain it better, but its really difficult to describe because its not really an emotion. Here's my chart for anyone interested Planetary positions planet sign degree motion Sun Aquarius 2°19'22 in house 10 direct Moon Gemini 23°34'30 in house 3 direct Mercury Capricorn 26°06'23 in house 10 direct Venus Aquarius 3°02'10 in house 10 direct Mars Scorpio 23°40'43 in house 7 direct Jupiter Aquarius 23°05'52 in house 11 direct Saturn Sagittarius 7°13'00 in house 8 direct Uranus Sagittarius 20°40'25 end of house 8 direct Neptune Capricorn 4°22'25 in house 9 direct Pluto Scorpio 7°16'23 in house 7 direct True Node Taurus 5°06'37 in house 1 retrograde Planets at the end of a house are interpreted in the next house. i have this feeling all of the time! i mean, several times a day.. sometimes it lasts the whole day. I think it may be due to a very heavily aspected Neptune. (illusion, almost like discrepancies within your 'reality') IP: Logged |

Hmm..I think I know what you're talking about. Like do you feel detached from yourself..almost like you are separate from your physical being, and you are observing from the outside? I feel like that a lot..is that what you're talking about?------------------ Capricorn sun / Scorpio rising / Sagittarius moon Mercury:: Sagittarius Venus::Scorpio Mars::Pisces IP: Logged |

SexyScorp- thats amazing! I cant imagine it lasting an entire day. Does it hinder your ability to function?augentier- that is exactly what I mean! when i was in high school a therapist called it "depersonalization" or disassociation. I didn't really buy into it though. I remember sitting in class and feeling like I was walking away from myself. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I've been there before myself. I tend to think it must have something to do with Neptune as well. It's almost like "what the hell am I doing here?"Also, somewhat similarly, I remember walking the dog one day with my boyfriend who I'd been with for 6 years at that point. We were standing on the corner, about to cross the street, and suddenly, I felt like I didn't know him at all. It was as if he was suddenly and completely foreign to me or like we'd just met at that moment and I knew nothing about him. I have odd moments like that sometimes that will last for hours and sometimes they're only there for a moment. But yeah, it's a weird feeling for sure. IP: Logged |

Often! I'm not sure if I experience quite the same thing though. It's not just a feeling of being separate from my physical being, but my everything--my personality, my history, my thoughts. And I'll see other people like that, too, like we're all just energy thrown into these finite circumstances. Circumstances that play out according to some rules predetermined by genetics and cause & effect, and the only thing outside of that is that separate essence we all have. Sometimes in the first moments of waking, I'll have that feeling. I'll feel personality-less. My sense of self comes back in a rush, but the experience saddens me b/c I like being who I am, and knowing the people who I love, and the experience reminds me how all of that is impermanent and I mourn that. It does encourage me to make the most of this life and its experiences while I'm here, though. I have Neptune trine my Moon and Neptune both conjunct & parallel my Sun. Edit: I could really relate to this: quote: I know what everything/who everyone is, I just feel baffled by it.

I felt this way alot when i was a young child. I remember day dreaming and not really knowing if I was awake or sleeping. I couldnt distinguish reality /from fantasy alot of the time. Even if i was awake i felt like i was in a dream/ or watching a movie of my life. PS: i have Moon in PIScesIP: Logged |

I've felt that before too, also with people I've known a long time. When that happens, I think it's b/c I'm more in "essence" mode, that that part of myself is dominant in that moment. And it feels like the other person is a stranger b/c that other person and I have been interacting and becoming acquainted with one another as personalities, not spiritual beings. It feels like I'm perceiving that moment from a spiritual, eternal perspective. The present moment feels like a memory of someone who I used to be and someone who I used to know. (Pardon my cheesy language, but I haven't yet figured out a precise & sophisticated way to discuss this. **sips martini...um, yoohoo, actually**. ) IP: Logged |

I sometimes have this: when I'm somewhere/converstions or whatever...I get this feeling of; wtf, this doesn't make any sense, why are they talking. And at that moment I start to hear the people differently, as if I were observring the conversation from above me. And then when I start to think about all the things I just said at that moment, I get this strange vibe as if this is all an illusion(which I know ofcourse:P)It's like all my sense of reality has gone.... yes, um, all the time. seriously.well, i also don't feel out of my body, but it is more like.. i am so aware of the energy dynamics going on that they completely overwhelm me a lot of the time. apparently my top three chakras are wide open, and the bottom two are pretty closed, so i am opposite of most people. i am also a pisces SN and living on my neptune line and seriously my being psychic here is waaaay beyond anything i've experienced before.. it happens so often that now i just ride with it. i realize i'm just picking up on other peoples' stuff ALL the time and i've recently started feeling a sense of liberation about it. a healthy detachedness that allows me to have compassion and bring a good vibe without getting tangled up. but neptune can be tricky and if you are not paying attention and staying detached you can take things personally when they really are not. it is a really weird thing, but yes, it happens all the time. i'm an aquarius too and i think that is a big part of it as well. we have a certain awareness that sort of floats above the general emotional dynamics that account for most peoples' lives. i don't mean "above" as in better than; i see it more visually, like we're floating along the ceiling looking down on things.. I think it definitely has to do with our intuitive natures. I understand what you all are saying about tapping into those around you. I've been freakily telepathic lately. Also, I found this post http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/002020.html About how to "ground" yourself. and it was posted on my birthday, how perfect. IP: Logged |
