I was recently talking to someone on Yahoo chat who told me in my past life i was a kings prostitute LOL

Where would he get that idea? And where on our natal chart shows our past life?

I have venus in 12th but i dont think that means i had lived that sort of life before.

Where on my chart would give me an idea of what i was in my past life?

Personally, past lives and astrology are two totally different esoteric fields or schools of thought...

There are people who have been apparently incarnated for over 900 times in this one dimension, so I am sure that these people have been almost everything from a concubine to a king. Maybe one can see the last life you had on a chart, but even so this would not cut it because if you believe that time is NOT linear (because if you believe in linear time then, I dunno...), then how could one have a "last or 'latest' past life" when all of them, in essence, occurred at the same time?

If you didn't understand that, I don't blame you. Sorry, I have nothing astro for you here.

I have never had a reading on a past life. but looking at my nodal connections and trying to figure out anything through astro has told me I was a bad boy in a past life. Most likely very stubborn and supposably a crystal clear ego structure was developed and apparently I might have been imprisoned. Im paying hard for it in this life.. and he compels me to do good.

Where I get concerned is when these concepts get twisted into theories that justify suffering, for example, if you were abused as a child it was because you hurt a child in a previous life. I've seen that written on this forum, but I'm sorry, no, I can't run with that, she did not deserve that treatment and I felt compelled to argue that this karmic interpretation of her chart was unhelpful and unjust.

I do not see a clear connection betwixt astrology and past lives. Past life issues are way too complex for a single chart to reveal anything of value.
As to the Cleopatra bit....
There are thousands upon thousands or more folks thinking they were Cleopatra.
I am becoming quite tired of hearing that.
I will buy that they SAW HER! People assume that what they saw was them! Look down folks, see yourself, not what/who you were looking at!
As one fellow said whilst agreeing with me on past lives and sooooooooo many folks believing they were the King or Cleopatra and so forth....

You could take a look at your SOUTH NODE-Persona-chart. I made up one for my SN - and from that impression, I must have been an artist, maybe a singer or dancer - all into aesthetics and love ... or must have been quite well liked. (This current lifetime, in the here&now, my Venus is conjunct my SN - and in "fall"-position in the intellectual 9th house)

Honestly, astrologically I would look at the Moon's Nodes as indicative of past lives. There is a really good book on this subject, Astrology for the Soul by Jan Spiller which gives really good descriptions of each Nodal position and the most likely past lives.

For instance, I have South Node in Scorpio, which tends to indicate someone who was "closely tied to people in positions of power and influence. They were the Queen or Courtesan behind the King, they were the Counselor to the Chief, Prime Assistant to the President, or confidant to the General. But in the end the decisions were made by the other person. They fed all their power, energy, and charisma to their more powerful soul mate and in exchange received validation and appreciation from that one person as acknowledgement of their worth." also of course, it allowed one to be free of money problems and lead a comfortable lifestyle, and I am learning in this life to make my own money and be financially independent! (which has been really hard! lol I really do expect others to give it to me)

I have gotten 2 past life readings, and both of them were head-scratchers. The first one said I was married several times with my current boyfriend in my past lives...apparently, we got married every time we had an opportunity to. Then, when I went to my 2nd reading (a year and a half gap went by between the two), I was told that I was NEVER married to my current boyfriend. Then my 2nd reading proceeded to tell me about my several past lives that to me, makes no sense whatsoever! I was told that I wasn't from planet earth, I was from another plaent and that I miss it terribly. That makes absolute no sense to me, because even if I am fascinated with astronomy, no way will I ever step into a spacecraft and go out to space, it would probably be my worst nightmare.

So I am really, very confused. I think anyone that would like to have a past like/akashic reading should ALWAYS do their research. In fact, now that I have had 2 past life readings, I would rather have a past life regression since to me that would prove more accurate and I am actually the one experiencing being regressed into my past lives instead of someone else telling me what I have been through all these years.

The thought of being alien in a past life is very interesting to me, even if the thought of going up to space terrifies me - so maybe you are right Seeing Stars, maybe NOT wanting to remember or acknowledge that I am from another planet is a defense mechanism....

LEXX, I once knew this woman who told me she was Mary Magdalene in a past life. I was supposed to be really impressed at hearing that. Her current life was ridden with failures and disappointment, but she could take pride in the glory of a former life. lol.

There are even more who claim to have been Mary Magdalene, several who are even here at LL.

PS.The bit many folks miss is that what repulses us, repels us, scares us, and so forth; can often tell more about who we were in past lives more than happy memories. Also several so called past life regressionists and or readers I have encountered fall into stereotyping folks based on current looks or health etcetera, including staying with the same gender the client is in this incarnation. And again, whatever faces you see in these memories is not you, unless you are looking at a reflection of yourself; or an NDE/OBE looking at your body.

Do you have Mars (sex) in Leo (king)?

As far as I'm aware, when looking into past lives you can use all the planets in the signs for clues.

The Moon shows where we are supposed to have failed in a past life, and something we should rectify in this life if we can.

Jupiter shows cosmic credits, and Saturn shows lessons to learn.

The aspects show karma.

The North Node shows where your soul wants you to go.

Retrograde planets show where we have an underused talent or have misused power from a past life, as well as things we have internalised from past lives.

Different planets are also associated with different countries and time periods. For example, very early Egypt - when the pyramids were built – is Taurean. In Cleopatra's day Egypt was ruled by Scorpio. Imperial Rome is Leo, as is pre-revolutionary France. Planets in Virgo could mean a life in medieval Europe or as a native American. Libra rules all the ancient Greek cities, as well as England.

The planets show possible professions. So a heavily aspected Uranus conjunct Mars in Leo could mean you were active in the French revolution as one of many possibilities. And Saturn in Taurus could mean an adept or authoritative sorceror in very early Egypt. Being born with the Sun in Aries on a New Moon is supposed to indicate a switch in sex or race from your previous life.

The trick is to see what feels right. For example, if you have always been fascinated by the Gods and Goddesses of ancient Egypt and then find out you have a heavily aspected Neptune retrograde in Scorpio, then it would fit that you were a priest or mystic in those times because the stars support that interpretation.

I think the house placements are about this lifetime alone, but the 12th house would show characteristics inherent in the soul.
