Most of us are really into the synastry between 2 lovers, but what kinds of things do you commonly see when you compare more than 2 natals for synastry? (Like mother, father, and child...)

For example, what would you make of this aspect?

Father: MC at 5 Aqu 27
Father's SO: NN at 5 Aqu 28 and venus at 7 Aqu 58
Child: Chiron at 5 Aqu 54

If anyone wants to take a stab at this, that would be great. I would also like to hear about any interesting aspects that tend to show up, especially in families. Thanks!

People who are closely related stand a good chance of being quite alike in some ways. If that is reflected in some close conjunctions, then the map made by the heavens is providing us with a realistic picture.

Here's an example from my family, interestingly one of the children was an emergency ceasarian, the other induced:

Father: Mars 4* Sag 27' R
Daughter: Asc 5* Sag 32'
Nephew: Moon 3* Sag 00'

Some striking synastry can show up if you look at several family charts. This multi-oppostion, for example:

Grandad: Mars 0* Pis 36'
Grandma: Mars 0* Vir 23'
Daughter: I.C 1* Pisces 05
Grandson: Sun 2* Virgo 25'

It is my parents who have a Mars/Mars Opposition. With the time of birth my dad gave me, that puts my MC/IC axis within a degree. The child (mine) was born with see-saw chart with Mars CNJ Uranus at the Pisces end, and Jupiter CNJ Sun CNJ Venus at the Virgo end.

Hi Blue Moon! Thanks for responding! Do you think these close connections just show that the people are connected in this lifetime, or do you think it shows other lifetime connections? (I guess it would depend on the aspect?) Also, how do you think these play out?

In your example of the emergency caesarian, I'm gonna guess that's the Daughter - I picture the father's Mars on her ASC as sort of "aggressively" getting her out into the world! And then the uncle's Mars on the nephew's moon saying "hey...time get out of the womb..." (moon feels like womb to me).

With your son, does he like to do "manly" things with Grandad, and maybe more artistic "fun" things with Grandma? How would you characterize YOUR relationship with him? IC seems to indicate past life connection.

I really wish I had some accurate birth times for my parents and grandparents...I'm going to look into getting those.

What do you think of the example I gave? How would you interpret that?

That sums up the grandparents quite neatly.

If the Sun/Uranus/Mars influence sounds a rebellious handful, that just means he fits right into the family. My other son has these planets in aspect and so do I, it's a family feature. Another one that goes back to Grandpa. We do feel tightly bonded, strongly similar in some ways, but he also has Mercury Conjunct my Moon/Pluto. So that is another powerful link. I feel like we naturally understand each other without need for words.

I've got a book called "Mapping Family Relationships" that describes Venus CNJ MC synastry in families as showing a deep mutual love and understanding that lasts a lifetime. I see that is on your triple synastry, and with the child bringing in the wounded healer that is Chiron that makes for a powerful family-bond.

Thanks Blue Moon! It's interesting to see an aspect that is almost "inherited", like in your family. Very cool.

It's also nice to hear that the aspect I mentioned shows a deep family love. If you didn't already suspect it, it's my SO, his daughter and me. Of course, I have no idea if we will ever be a "family", but it's nice to know it would be a good fit if we ever get to that point. His daughter means the world to him! (His venus is conjunct her ASC, his sun in her first house.)

I wouldn't mind taking a look at that book. Who's the author? Thanks again! :P

Cool...thanks!

Btw, what do you think of this: I did composite charts between my SO and each of my 4 brothers. In 3 out of 4 charts, the composite has almost the exact same ASC and there is a a pluto-uranus conjunction in the 3rd house. I thought it was interesting, since the 3rd house relates to siblings, right?

Side note: The only one that is different has a pluto-uranus-jupiter conjunction in the 5th. The funny thing is the brother who is part of that chart is kind of the "black sheep" of the family! lol
