The following was included in a chart that I had run.Saturn (score=165) is very strong because: trine Sun (+=35) ruler of the hour (+=55) pole of symmetrical heptagram (+=80) Jupiter (score=145) is very strong because: closely conjunct Midheaven (+=115) trine Sun (+=35) 1)What does it mean when the above says "Saturn is the ruler of the hour?" and pole of symmetrical heptagram?

Symmetrical heptagram - I don't know. Must be when seven planets are in aspect and form some sort of configuration, as to what it means, I don't know.Ruler of the hour - each hour has a ruling planet. http://www.astronor.com/hours.htm quote: About the Planetary Hours The tradition of planetary hours stems from the ancient division of day and night, each into 12 equal portions of time. The planets then rule these portions, called hours, in a regular and unbroken order (SA, JU, MA, SU, VE, ME, MO). The cycle continues from one day to the next so that every seven days a major revolution is completed and the order of rulerships belonging to each day is fixed. The 7 days of the week receive their name from the planet that rules the first hour of that day, i.e. the Sun rules the first hour of Sunday, the Moon the first hour of Monday, etc. This planet then becomes the Lord of the Day. Note that the astrological day begins at Sunrise. If you were born at 03.00 a.m. prior to Sunrise Tuesday morning, the day would still be astrological Monday! According to the season, diurnal and nocturnal hours differ in length. The exception is at the vernal and autumn equinoxes when the hours of day and night are equally long.
This webpage can calculate the lord of the hour for a chart: http://www.kentauren.info/menu/index.htm?page=/Nucleus/news.php%3Fitemid%3D85 If saturn is the lord of the hour, the that is the planet that will rule the hour you are born in. I suppose it's important to take note of. Maybe you might have characteristics that are similar to capricorns.

I found this: http://www.gypsyadvice.com/alliestwocents/atheisschart.pdf quote: Heptagram: a mandala-like drawing of the 7 major planets. The heptagram points towards a pole planet, which is strong in the chart.
I take it the pole, is the apex of the 7 pointed configuration. Symmetrical because there's symmetry with the "pole" planet being the point of symmetry (mirror symmetry) I think. http://www.spiritual.com.au/dictionary/dict_h.html quote: Heptagram: A seven-pointed star drawn with one unbroken line. Symbolic of the number seven, which is important not only to the seven traditional astrological planets but also to the seven planes and subplanes and the seven chakras.

23- Thanks so much for the info. I wonder how much importance the Lord of the hour is in the natal chart as compared to the chart ruler?------------------ ------------------ Sun: Scorpio Moon: Capricorn Ascendant: Libra IP: Logged |

Good question scorp31. I really don't know myself. I know something like the Lord of the Hour would be prominent in classical astrology and maybe horary astrology (which I don't know how to do). I suppose it would have some impact in modern astrology, everything does but I've never really heard about it being mentioned at all in modern astrology. I often wonder if day rulers have an impact as well (each day has a ruler as well). IP: Logged |
