My 2nd, 5th, 7th and 8th houses have nothing in them. So for example, if the 7th house tells us about how we select our partners and mine is blank then what does that mean?? IP: Logged |

So, I asked this same question at allexperts.com and this is the answer I got quote: This is one of the most common questions when people first learn about astrology, first to put it in perspective we have 8 planets, the sun and the moon, so its mathematically impossible for each house to have a planet in it. You also tend to have a scattered personality when you have your planets all over your chart. What an astrologer does when they look at a chart is look not just at planets in a house but the planet that rules the house, that is, in my opinion, often more important than planets in the house. The zodiac has 12 signs, these signs put together cover the complexities of a personality, each one of us has each of the signs somewhere in our chart, when the sign of the zodiac falls has much to do with how we act in that area, it supersedes the planet in the house, the planet adds a flavor to the whole, the sign on the cusp is what dictates the energy being used. So having an empty house is not a bad thing you still have activity in that area of your chart, as to relationships you want to look at the sign on the cusp of the 7th, see what type of energy it has, then look to the planet that rules that sign see what sign and house it falls in as well as what planets make aspects to it. I hope this has helped.LeLonni WWW.astrologybylelonni.com Thanks and please visit my website www.astrologybylelonni.com
So what does this mean?

The sign on the cusp of your seventh house is simply the opposite of your rising sign. Your rising sign is Sagittarius, so Gemini is the cusp of your seventh house. Gemini is ruled by Mercury and you have Mercury in Pisces in the second house. So I guess you'll have a very bright, talkative and compassionate spouse/mate that will be concerned with second house issues. Maybe your partner will be a humanitarian and donate money to charities. Maybe your partner will make money by being an artist, fashion designer, etc. On the flipside, this could mean your partner might always be focused on money, which can be a problem in relationships. Who really knows? IP: Logged |

"Astrological Voids" by Janis Huntley is an excellent book for helping with these kinds of questions. As she points out, an empty 7th does not mean a dearth of relationships. Rather: quote: Wherever the ruler of the seventh is placed is the area in which the subject seeks fulfilment from the relationship.
The chart system I use is Placidus, and using this, we see the ruler of the Descendant, Mercury (as it rules Gemini), is in the 2nd house. The 2nd house is concerned with self-worth, security. A partner might be someone who you need to make you feel safe and secure. Alternatively, you might lean more towards the money connotations of this house, with a partner who takes care of you financially. If you prefer the Equal House system or anything that shifts Mercury into another house, the aspects are the same: Mercury is Conjunct the North Node and in a wide Trine to Jupiter. Maybe you will get some unexpected good fortune. But it is also in a wide Square to the Moon. There might be a heart versus head conflict. Maybe you go for the wrong sorts.
