I have just met a Taurean man that has stopped me in my tracks! After 10 years with a Scorpio soulmate (Love, but going nowhere), this guy has appeared and I am obsessed. However, after reading other posts, Taurean men appear detached, stubborn, aloof and this drives the passionate, loving, unconfident Scorpio in me absolutely mad. After meeting through friends and work a few times (and picking up signals of interest), we spent a night together (totally not my usual behaviour) and he seemed really keen to spend the whole weekend with me and said he wanted to get his personal life in order, as he works non-stop. Then nothing. No weekend together and an embarassed apology for being so ungentlemanly, the following week. We have met since, in a social and group situation and he is polite, if not cold, although he did seek me out to say goodbye when leaving the group last weekend. Being a Scorpio, I want to delve into his innermost thoughts and analyse them, 24 hours a day, but have just read about 6 books about how that's not a good idea in a new relationship. I am out of the dating scene for so long that I don't know how to handle it, particularly as I can't fathom whether we had a lovely one night stand, or whether I need to give him time. Or maybe he's just not interested. Please help!

Oh, wish I could help you there! My sweetie has a Taurus Asc and he is sloooow when it comes to making the moves! I adore him, otherwise I would have just given up by now, but sometimes if they don't act immediately or quickly enough, all is okay. They're chewing on their thoughts and making sure it makes enough sense to them, at least. Your Taurus making sure he says goodbye, shows at least his consideration and politeness to someone he is fond of.

Hang in there, and feel free to be the one to put it out there (which I'm sure it's hard for a Scorp to do, but you are determined, right!)

Good luck! Don't give up!

Thanks Arial33. Yes, I think he's a good guy and I liked what I saw when he was off-guard. I know he is inundated with work and that has affected his relationships in the past - he did say that until he had work sorted, he wasn't in a position to have a relationship. I am just so confused, I don't know whether it's a male brush-off, or a typical Taurean response.

Hi
Yes, that's a typical taurus response. If work is not going well, they cannot focus on forming a new relationship. They usually work on one thing at a time & work/money comes first, then they'll look for love. They like to build relationships slowly & carefully to ensure the relationship has a steady, solid foundation. Friendship is a good way to start out with them.

I know alot about Taureans so here's a primer:

They like a challenge when it comes to dating. They want to feel like they can earn you & they seek high-quality mates. Sleeping together so quick is not a good idea for pursuing something serious with an Earth sign. If you have impressed him with your intelligence, independence, heart, reliability, responsibility, and personality, then he may want to slowly get to know you.

When it comes to Taureans, patience is a must because they have loads of it (unless they have Aries or Gemini heavy planets). They are slow to make decisions, especially when their heart or wallet is involved. So if you really want something serious with him or to get to know him more, be his friend and take it slow. Don't force anything unless a LONG time passes & no progress. One thing though is they are honest, especially if they have Mercury in Taurus or Aries, so if you have questions on how they feel for you, ask them in a non-threatening manner and give them space to answer you slowly.

They only seem aloof or detached on the surface but they are sensual, romantic, lusty (very high sex drives), sensitive men. They just don't show it to anyone they are not close to or serious with. They must feel secure with you before they open up. Security is the key word with them, they seek financial security first then emotional security next. They are pretty calm emotionally & not intense or extreme like Scorpios. They like to give the appearance of being in control with their emotions & life. It takes alot to get them mad but once they are mad, watch out! A raging bull is nothing to mess with, their tempers could be explosive. If they feel out of control or insecure due to losing something important like a job, they will go into hiding until they get over it. They aren't good at calling first & may be hard to reach. They love to have a good time, eat, drink & be merry. They are sensual with everything they see, hear, touch, & smell.

Wow SweetCappie, you've summed it up perfectly. I have a Taurus friend. I took him along to friends and my Scorpio girlfriend was interested in him. They started texting each other while sitting in the same room and seem to hit it off. After a couple of meetings he just lost interest and she became obsessive. One day I asked him why he did not respond to her and he replied that he did not want to pursue a relationship with her because there was no chase involve.

Hey Cassy and Sweet Cappie, they are both great insights and strengthen my resolve. I agree that friendship is a great starter and has always been the basis of my relationships to date. I also agree that for something physical to happen so soon is not a good idea, in any new relationship, but it was just one of those things; I had never done that before and he is pretty much the same. On the up side, we now both know how explosive sex will be. I really need a couple of social outings to show him I'm not chasing him, but just want to be his friend, as I think he needs one of those too.

Opposites attract so I can imagine the fireworks ya'll had. Hopefully he realizes how good a Scorpio could be for him (well, earth signs in general). Good luck Scorpy.

Hi Scorpy, sometimes things just happen eventhough it's not your usual style of doing things. I'm a Cap with Taurus moon & rising and I believe in getting to know somebody first before bedding them but I'm with a Libra Sun/Gemini Moon for 6 years now and everything went very fast, definitely not my usual style. We're very different but his Sun & Uranus is in my 5th house, so we have alot of fun & excitement. Good luck with the Taurus, they are really wonderful people.
