Topic: Hiw to move away from someone you have an instant connection with?

I met someone at work, we had been working a few months with each other and it wasn’t until at a meeting that I locked eyes with him and we both instantly felt something. Neither of us are in a position to do anything - so I kept my distance for a long time - but since we work closely I was always polite but it was very obvious to both of us that we felt a connection. I also decided to talk to him and just make sure we are just open and friendly to each other, because I thought sometimes you can initially be attracted to someone but when you get to know each other the attraction can fade away. So I tried that and he was always a bit off with me when we spoke - so I felt much better and the feeling slowly faded away to the point where there was nothing. We had sports day and he was sat on the stairs and I was just wondering around and sat with him and had a chat, and this time was different because it was out of work, and we really got on, it was so nice to talk to someone and how easy the communication was! I felt so happy after talking to him but also quickly came back down to earth and realised crap I do actually like him!! And I’m sure he felt the same way. Anyway we can’t be together, that’s just not going to happen. So I’ve decided to stop all small chats and just be Hi/hello and he doesn’t feel comfortable communicating with me at work and only when he’s loosened up with alcohol he has the encouragement to chat to me. I might look like I’m being horrible but I know it’s just not right and I really want to protect myself and my feelings because I’m such a sensitive person and I don’t want to get hurt anymore. I hope you can agree with me that not all connections we have with everyone should go the distance and on this occasion I’m making the right decision.

I am wondering why you keep saying it can not happen. It will never happen.
Is one of you married? or do you have standards that you do not want to date someone from work because it can make things complicated if things do not work out?He seems attracted but afraid. Maybe because your work. I am not sure. If this happen to me an year ago I would go for it. But now I would not. I would not go for it because I know how messy it can get when you get close to someone at work either love interest or even friendship. But we can not make this decision for you. I would take my time to think about if I were you. And think about both my emotions but also my job. These kind of connections I get them all the time and they are very difficult to ignore. If you can't be together, you just move on. Daydreaming is harmless though, and the posts I've read of your are always sparkling with the prospect of love  But if there is a chance of your being together with him, it looks like you are making all the moves to promote the acquaintance/connection to another level, sc0rpioRising, but he's in control of this vessel. Nothing wrong with him being passive(passive/aggressive) because maybe you'll see he's taking a more thoughtful, solid approach, rather looking for some quick office fling. IP: Logged |

I love reading these old threads and always wish I knew the outcome and the astrology. I believe instant connections are The Universe drawing you together to share something/communicate something. Even if it is something that is totally mundane, it might have a huge impact on someone else. You meet a stranger at work and have a tiny chat, but something you say guides them in their life and you never know. You talk about getting a recipe from your sister and they remember to call their sister when they may have waited another month. The impact might be as simple as reminding them to get in touch, or it might be some turning point where their relationship could have slipped further away and they never had a chance to reconnect before one moved or passed on or something big. Those intense moments are being used by Spirit for SOMETHING, we just don't see it in the moment and can complicate it thinking it might be a potential partner. But that is part of it too. Because it might make us feel our longing for a partner and we might then take the extra step with that person, or with ourselves in learning or growing more, or we might take the right step towards the person we really are meant to have as a partner etc. Butterfly effect and God Works In Mysterious Ways etc  IP: Logged |
