So this summer i will go on a quest(irony first shop i'll be checking is called Quest Book Shop) to buy my first tarot deck. I was inspired when a close friend of mine brought her deck to school. I can remember the moment when I walked in he class and boom! I felt that energy coming off those cards and it's very odd still to this day. Those cards are hers and in a way, if they were her children they would be my godchildren or something. I don't know what I am ram-balling about.
So I have some questions for you guys.
1. What was your first experience with tarot Cards?
2. Did any of you have them passed down?
3. Where did you acquire your first deck?
4. How many decks do you have?
5. How do you bond with your tarot cards?
6. What's your sun sign, and where does it sit?

------------------
Sun,Mars-Aquarius
Ascendant-Taurus
Moon-Gemini
Venus,Saturn-Pisces
Jupiter, Mercury,Neptune-
Capricorn
Pluto-Sagittarius
Lilith-Cancer
N.Node-Libra

I love surveys!

1. What was your first experience with tarot Cards?

Edited to add: Well, actually my first ever experience was when I was 11 or 12. One of my best friend's cousin used to read them for 1 dollar in Junior HS. She kept talking about all of these boys "liking" me, lol. I just thought boys were icky @ the time , but it was true.

I went to get my cards read per my aunt's recommendation almost 10 years ago. I went to a "Botanica" where the Santero reads cards. He told me a lot of things he wouldn't know & without me saying a word to him. His predictions came to pass. During the reading he said I had a gift & that it may come from my mother's side of the family (true, creepy happenings as a child in the house & my grandma..& now this telepathy with my mother). After the reading I came the next day & bought my first Tarot deck - The Spanish Tarot.

I used to read with it, and the father of my kids didn't believe in it until after one day I guessed the question he asked just by interpreting the cards I drew. He was shocked, lol.

One day I threw it out because I got scared. I was pregnant with my first born - became a little paranoid.

2. Did any of you have them passed down?

Nope, I have always bought my own decks.

3. Where did you acquire your first deck?

Read above . A Botanica, but now I purchase most of my decks online. Even used ones (my Lenormand deck is used).

4. How many decks do you have?
More than 10

5. How do you bond with your tarot cards?
I have to like the images because if I don't, then I can't connect to them.

6. What's your sun sign, and where does it sit?
Virgo Sun - 7th house

I'll bite. Interesting topic.

1. My first experience....I was 14, and I saw all this tarot stuff at a flea market behind where I lived. My friends and I would hang out there on snow days cuz they had a pool table lol I bought a deck and a book with tarot spells. I didn't take the time to learn all the cards at first so it was really confusing doing spreads.

2/3. Yes I bought my first deck used at this flea market. I got really freaked out the following yr when weird stuff started happening in my home and my friends noticed it too so I gave my deck away to a friend. Nobody ever told me I should cleanse the deck first. Oops.

4. I have 2 decks now. I bought myself another deck when I was 19. Brand new this time. That deck I still have, 14 yrs later.

5. I just work with them to bond with them. It takes me awhile, but once I work with it enough I can feel the connection.

6. Sun sign - virgo. Sits in 6th house.

*edit* I guess I didn't really have my first deck passed down. I just bought it used. Nah no one passed down a deck to me.

I don't have any cards now, and haven't in years.. but I just felt like chiming in

1. What was your first experience with tarot Cards? My first experience with tarot cards was in high school when a classmate of mine would have us over to her place after school for readings. She was still learning, but was eerily accurate once about a warning that she gave me about staying away from someone.. I didn't listen and ended up being injured in a car accident as a result. Anyway, after that I took a break from readings for a year or two, then eventually tried my own hand at them.

2. Did any of you have them passed down? Nope.. not something many of my family members would approve of.

3. Where did you acquire your first deck? I bought my first deck at a local book store.

4. How many decks do you have? I've had two, but currently own none. Both were misplaced during moves.

5. How do you bond with your tarot cards? I prefer cards with images that I really respond to.. otherwise I can't connect with them too well.

6. What's your sun sign, and where does it sit? Sun sign is Scorpio and it sits in my first house

Wait you have to cleanse them, even if they are new?

Eh you don't necessarily need to cleanse a new deck. A used one definitely. But when you sit down and think about it, SOMEONE packaged those brand new cards. I personally don't want anyone else's energy on MY cards unless I'm reading for them. I don't want their residual energy lingering on my cards when I use them for myself. I have no clue who handled the deck before it got to the store ya know? Since the creepy experience I had with the used deck I had, I make sure to use pure sea salt and every now and cleanse my deck. I invited something into my house once bc of my lack of knowledge and I'm not taking chances now lol

I always make sure to 'close' my deck now too. A woman who used to give me tarot readings a long time ago who was psychic recommended it to me. She warned me that sometimes working with tarot cards can attract...things. Also advised me to say a prayer of protection before and after each reading. I've been doing that and using the sea salt and so far no more spirits in my home.

I should probably tell my friend to do that as well.
