I would like to get a small insight into what would happen if I were to contact an ex of mine N.D some time this month?

My younger sister and one of my very good friends have been trying to convince me to contact him. They don't know him personally but I don't know why, these days, they've both touched on this topic. I don't talk about him often with my friends or my sister, so I'm wondering ...

I was tempted in September but I dropped the idea because I was busy and focusing on something more important.

Ok ill make this short. He likes me and i like him. we r not in the same country so there is distance. we know each other form uni same course. I am older than him two years. He had been texting from feb 2015 till october 1 2015. then he dissapeared for 6 days did not hear anything from him till today the 7th of october it is my birthday n he just wrote so i am sure u said today was your birthday so happy birthday he sent me through whatsapp not on fb and i was sad and crying because when he dissapeared i dont know the reason.
I just told him something and i am regreting it. I am gifted with dreams they r psychich dreams :'( I feel weird and an outtakast because of this not many understand it. so I had one with him. and it was something from his past dating a girl n he was at high school. he freaked out and said bloodyhell how on earth did u know that!!!?? he said burn the witch , u r a demon!! r u a wizard or a devil worshipper am like no :'( stop it then he apologized and said no its cool its just i never experienced this before n i told him this means am connected with u like because i know u now so yea then he said i wont tell anyone and i understand then didnt hear from him till today was that the reason

N I replied sending him a pic n he just wrote it really suits u its so blonde u look really good! His not keeping the convo flowing... I sense although he is the one who wrote blondie first yesterday at 11 pm n I didn't text till today on purpose

He actually told me many times he found me attractive and somewhat classy although my raw honesty can sometimes leave him uneasy.

However, I was wondering if you think his response will be positive (as in will I get a reply) or will he end up ignoring me again? Because him ignoring me is the reason we're not speaking.

And yes, I am going through a bit of a shaky period at the moment but I was already tempted to contact him when everything was fine in May.
