Yes any way you want to read it. This is just for bit of fun, I was thinking yesterday how to answer every day questions. You are right, Leno might be better for that. If it helps, I have thought of some choices for a gift.

1) A small lego set (since I have seen him building this with his siblings)

2) Slime

3) Some small magic tricks (thinking to get them for Christmas might be better idea)

Or anything different that comes to mind.

Sorry for the delay, i need a little rest and a break

So now I asked (in general) what kind of gift you could do to J that could please him

Bear/Cross/Dog

I suppose a gift that would have the following characteristics:

1) Bear: put it to the test, allow it to use its strength or will, control, Be assertive
2) something which is not too easy and which brings him some obstacles, difficulty that is not so easy to solve, a challenge, which allows him to surpass himself (Bear / Cross)
3) A game that he could share or play with a friend or family

Now for you proposition I pulled a card for each:

1) Birds : I think he could be very excited by this gift which would allow him in addition to discussing, communicating ...

2) Scythe : No. It seems that you can forget this one..

3) Book/Moon (jumped together) : ok it seems this one could be have success if it is a book and a really good book as one which have had a success or which has been designated as a really good magic trick book for youth.

Now if I look at the answer and the proposals you give, my choice would be for a set of legos that offers a difficulty and that is not built too fast. Maybe something that would allow him to start a kind of small collection to play with his siblings?

The legos offer a lot of very interesting thematic, which requires precision, reflection, meticulousness and which once built offers a very good support of imagination's games and gives a feeling of pride (to show to others what he has succeeded despite difficulty and because of his will) .. Bear is very proud, Cross asks the question to succeed or not because it is difficult so I will choose this. As he is 12 years old, he is no longer a little boy, looking for a set that corresponds to his age especially.
