Im sorry Im bot sure if this would go here, but I wanted to post about my depression episode I had a few years ago that still effects me to this day. I would say it was a life changing event for me and Im interested in knowing if there is anything that indicates this time of my life in my chart? My depression was so severe I may call it crippling and I have no idea how it happened to me. It was such an ugly thing to experience. It happened sometime in November 2013. Im not sure if I set up my solar return chart right. Or if this is the correct chart type to read off this event, but I would greatly appreciate any input on what you notice. Im very scared that it might happen again. It holds me back from being happy.

Soulofabird,

I hope you don't mind, but wish to respond to you with astrology aside, if that is OK. Please ignore me, if I am preaching to the converted.

Depression is a response.
There will either be an emotional, cognitive or environmental trigger(s).
Our fantastic brains often also provide us with early warning signs before intense responses, so you will also have had clues prior to the depression's full manifestation.

I would advise you try to retrospectively journal how you felt, what your thoughts were and what events took place just prior to the manifestation of the depression.
Try to create a map for yourself of your trigger points and vulnerabilities.
This is the best defense against adverse emotional episodes because from this you can walk a path that if safe for you and also build a took-kit of coping strategies to manage those situations you cannot control.

It is perfectly normal to fear the return of depression, however, it would be of benefit to you to develop some robust anxiety management techniques at this stage. Mindfulness, exercise, slow breathing and guided meditations are a good place to start
