Ra~~I do not remember much of this dream but I do remember this:

I was eating fruit and someone said, watch out, there may be spiders in it. I did not understand, but sure enough I cracked open the strawberry I was about to eat and there lay a dormant spider. I was told that they nest in fruit and that we unknowingly eat them.

Then, thinking back on my day today, I remembered telling my mom how when I was a kid I used to think that the little nubs on peanuts inside the shell had spiders in them.

So I wonder what this all is?

OSheen, this is one of those short, "Randall-type" dreams, one that is just a snippet, but contains volumes of meaning, one layer after another.

I will not be able to peel this onion of a dream completely right now, but I will try to give you some of the possible meanings that pop into my mind.

First, your thoughts as a child about spiders and peanuts may simply be connected as an experiencial pathway through which the subconscious can relay a message via the dream state. Umm ... did that make sense? Anyway, I think it is just peripheral, not necessarily important to the dream (could be wrong!).

The dream - fruit - something ripened, something ready. You are eating it.

spiders - fate, healing, danger, deceit, eternity and all associated with eight. There is so much meaning connected with the spider in your dream that I can only hint at it right now.

strawberry - this one is interesting and also carries a number of meanings all of which I think apply in your message, at different levels or layers. It is a fruit, and it's seeds are on the outside. Think about that, I believe it has much to do with the counseling you are getting and the things which are coming to the surface, the seeds of your problems, the roots. It is also red, shaped like the heart, and carries certain sexual connotations. There is much meaning in all of these combined, and I will not go into detail here.

dormant spider - the potential of the spider symbology, and the prize (as I see it) for eating the fruit. Fear to be conquered.

This dream has everything to do with all of those things which "lie" just within your subconsciousness, the "seeds" of which are beginning to appear on the surface of your awareness.

Like I said, there are several levels to this dream and I hope you can kind of put it together with that information, because I am out of time!

Thanks, OSheen!

Ra, I did in my dream lick the seeds ....

That was incredible insight. I am going to contemplate it, and notice what comes up.

OSheen,

I remember you were born on a 26th.
2 + 6 = 8 = Spider.

I don't have much experience interpreting dreams, but I have a hunch this one may not about "conquering your fears."

26 represents dis-satisfactory relationships. The entity or person is encouraged to "go it alone."

As Ra explained, the strawberry represents LOve, sexuality etc.

I don't mean to intrude into your personal life, but maybe you are getting into a relationship, and your subconscious is warning of the pitfalls (the "26" kind of unsatisfactory relationships). But maybe it means something much more positive - that you are aware of the "26" type disappointing relationships, and are willing to overcome your fear. (Life cannot be lived fuly until we overcome all our fears, and maybe you are being encouraged to do so.)

I guess the meaning hinges on how you FELT after discovering the spider - did you want to eat the strawberry anyway, or did you not? Whatever your reaction was, that was the effect your subconscious was trying to achieve. [ It knows you VERY well ]

Elohim .... I think you definately have something there. My relations tend to end up ... well, they tend to end. Quickly and always without warning. So a part of me is very wary.

This is still on the ledge of my mind.

THank you so much for the great insight.

OSheen~ While surfing around I came across this and thought it might apply (?) Ever heard of the North American Indian Goddess *Spider Woman* ?

Among other things, this was interesting, I thought...

Ways to Evoke Spider Woman's Attributes into Your Life.

Colors: yellow, black, red, white
Gems/Stones: turquoise, coral, geodes
Symbols: spider, spiderweb, sipapu or sacred opening in the earth
Feast/Festival Day: July 30
Fragrances: sage, sweetgrass, cedar (sage? )
Flowers/Herbs: blue cohosh, black cohosh, yucca

Spider Woman's recipe for sage/cedar/sweetgrass smudge:

Gather 8 lengths of dried sage, cedar and/or sweetgrass and tie securely with twine. Smudge sticks should be 1 to 2 inches in diameter at widest point. Tie off loose ends of twine. Light until smudge stick thoroughly ignites. When the flame burns out, purify yourself and/or your space with the fragrant smoke.
