This morning, I awakened from a dream in which I believe I was arguing with a friend. I forget what we were arguing about, but I was crying. In fact, my crying is what awakened me. I actually work up sobbing, with tears running down my cheeks. This has happened to me several times before. Does anyone have any idea what this may mean? I'd be most appreciative of your feedback. Thanks.

I've had things like that happen... usually surrounding very emotional dreams. When it happened to you before do you remember your dreams?

I like to watch you in your sleep ..I’d give a million if I knew your name ..And all I need is to be with you ..In a state of dreams ..That’s where I wanted to be ..With you in a state of dreams

I usually remember them for a short while; after a few hours, it becomes very vague. When I woke up this morning, I knew exactly what the conversation was; now I only remember that I was arguing with a friend. I had a very pleasant conversation with him the night before (in waking life).

In your dream, your friend can represent another side of yourself - so it might be that you had an argument with yourself. The fact that you had a pleasant conversation the night before, might indicate that you "use" you friend in the dream as someone you can confide in, someone you can trust - and who might tell you something about yourself that you don't like and that make you sad.
My son (he's seven years old) sometimes cries in his sleep, and when I ask him what he dreamt, it's often about his older brother - who in the dream takes his toys or something like that. In real life, the kid normally reacts with agression, which probably covers that this is actually something that makes him sad.
So, whatever the dream, I believe that you cry because something in your life makes you sad. And maybe when you're awake you don't allow yourself to cry?
