I recurringly have dreams about the house I grew up in, and very often weird things happen there in my dreams. Once I had a dream that ectoplasm started dripping off one of the doors and I suddenly felt as though I was about to be demonically possessed so I rang the police! (doesn't make sense, I know - lol)

Anyway last night I dreamed I was there and there were noises coming from my sister's room; it turned out a psycho had broken in, so we all ran into my room to hide from him but we couldn't lock the door and he was laughing like a maniac in the other room (the same room where in my other dream about a year ago, the ectoplasm was dripping off the door and the 'possession' was about to take place) - again I rang the police and asked them to come because a psycho had broken in. I woke up feeling really freaked out!

What is it about the house I grew up in that makes me dream these things and why do I always call the police?

The dream I had last night is approximately a year after the first one I had with the ectoplasm on the door. In both dreams there's a feeling that something terrible is about to happen and that's why I call the police, but at the same time I feel that the police won't arrive in time and that's when I wake up.

In real life, my mother is sure that she saw a ghost in that house.

Last night when I woke up I thought of the street number, 36, and wondered what 9 means when you live in a house. My mother was also 36 when we moved there. I wonder if that means anything?

Do you know anything about the history of the house and/or those who lived there before you?

No, I have no idea...

I did some work on this dream last night; I wrote down all the similarities between this dream and my last dream of this house. The 'narrative structure' is the same in both dreams and the way I feel and the things that happen are very similar... in writing all of this down I felt like I was getting very close to its meaning... in fact I started to feel weirdly emotional so I had to put down my notebook and forget about it for a while. I also noticed that the two dreams are almost exactly a year apart.

I'll post my notes/observations when I have more time! I've gotten as far as I can in working out the similarities and some of the meaning, but need help in working through the rest!

I would be most interested in what you have discovered. How old were you when you lived in this house? Fairly young? Did something happen to you?

I lived there between the ages of 8 and 15... nothing traumatic happened to me there (apart from a few punch-ups with other kids in the street, lol!). It is the house though where I began getting interested in my subconscious, and my intuition was also developing. Also I was quite freaked out by the possibility of supernatural happenings - maybe that's feeding into my dreams. I'll type out my notes later when I have more time!
