Over the past few months, I've had trouble remembering dreams, which is uncharacteristic of me. However, recently I've had a couple dreams which stuck out.

In the first dream, I don't remember if I was barefoot or not, likely not, but I do remember I was walking on foot. Apparently I was attempting to walk a length of I-5 on a journey. (In waking life, I'm on the East Coast, closer to I-81).

Anyways, I apparently took a detour, and don't remember if I was trying to go over, or had just walked over the Golden Gate Bridge (I remember seeing signs saying about ramp construction, which I know is happening close to there in San Francisco. I got bored and looked at traffic in Bing Maps at some point in waking life). Well, long story short, I encountered a few young people, I think like 18-ish years old? Few guys, different backgrounds, and a raven-haired girl. She was kinda cute, and the group and I got to talking. I mention I-5, and I think the girl says "You'd have to go past Oakland for that". I immediately ask about ways around Oakland, as knowledge of it not being the safest city around leaked from my waking memories into the dream. The guys started saying I needed to get around that, "gotta know where you're going." Just about then, it shifts to someplace like the top level of a parking garage. A heavy, gray mist rolls in. I ask the girl if this is normal, and she said "Yep." Then I remark something like "Oh yeah, guess it wouldn't be San Francisco without the fog". At this point I mention my destination had been Seattle, but I could be pursuaded to stay awhile in the city. I look again, and the girl's hairstyle and clothing had changed. (Now she was wearing all purple, short skirt, and now her hair wasn't quite pigtails, or maybe it was now.). I decide to befriend the group and ask names. The girl looks away (I sensed apprehension regarding her guy friends), and the one kid says "John Adams". Another kid, darker complexion if I remember correctly (not much more that I remember at this point of him) says "John Hancock", at which point I say "nevermind..." as I knew where this was going (fake names). At this point, I also sensed the dream was ending. But really wanted to know more about the girl... (but no dice).

Another dream recently involved me looking at Bing Maps. I checked the traffic, and noticed mostly smooth sailing (really weird, as I was looking at the map of Los Angeles). However, a large part was grayed out, or not showing traffic. One highway (Maybe 405 but not sure) showed red at the tip, and the red triangle explanation point for "Serious Incident/Construction". I could have sworn there was a mall indicator or something... I thought "Park Place", but can't find anything like that on the map. The sense I was getting was that was the area of Los Angeles I shouldn't stick around in when I get to it. Knowing what I do about Los Angeles geography, I think the mostly green area was places like Glendale and Pasadena... whereas the "gray zone" was aroudn the neck of the woods of Long Beach, Inglewood, Compton and the Red ! triangle was around where I think East Los Angeles or Lynwood or Downey would be on the map.

Kind of strange, as I think Beverly Hills and West Hollywood would have been in the gray zone. It extended out to the beaches, so Santa Monica would be included in that too. As the entirety of this dream consisted of me checking the map, I'm not sure what to make of it.

In waking life, comparing to both dreams, I'm on the East Coast (Pennsylvania), and I've had an urge to get to one of three cities to start over: Seattle WA, or San Francisco, CA, or Los Angeles, CA. (Seattle and San Francisco make sense as I work in computers, and Los Angeles makes sense as I've thought about being a screenwriter or maybe try acting... plus the computer work I think is there too).

The thing that gets me about the San Francisco dream is the gray fog/mist. It didn't feel threatening to me at all, and it was if I was expecting it, and expecting it at my "expected" destination of Seattle in the dream before thinking of staying awhile in San Francisco. The "gray area" in the LA dream didn't involve the color gray, but how I term the "no traffic data" portions when Traffic on Bing Maps just doesn't show anything for a stretch.

(that said, Waking world-wise: when I had my last two cars, and would use my iPhone map/GPS, I would get really weird vibes when google maps just "grayed out" and didn't load data for an area I was driving through. Like I was being watched or "something was in the area." As soon as map data came in, I felt more normal. Current car isn't set up very well for me to use the GPS so I don't bother with it. The traffic data was getting unreliable in the neck of the woods anyways as I'd run into traffic jams when the map recorded "Green").

Hello BlackSeraph

The dreams are a reflection of what is on your mind ... moving. I see a fairly simple pattern in these dreams.

The first dream indicates that this is your decision alone, that you are in control of the direction of your path, moving under your own power (walking on foot). Also, there are obstacles in San Fransisco (try to get around Oakland), and uncertainty (gray mist). You are willing to be convinced to stay there for a while instead of continuing to Seattle, but you are offered no reason (guys gave you fake names). One of the guys says "gotta know where you're going" ... good advice.

In the second dream there are obstacles in Los Angeles (serious incident/construction), and uncertainty (large part grayed out). Very similar to San Fransisco.

There are no obstacles or uncertainty mentioned about Seattle.

I cannot say if this is a message about where you should go, or if it is simply a reflection of what you desire and thoughts/concerns about the various places.

What do you think?

Obstacles and uncertainty is definitely a theme going on right now. The fact that highways both in some way play a part in both dreams is very telling as well.

I've been wanting to get out of dodge, so to speak, for awhile, and I was hoping to get the ball rolling before a training class would be offered (I figured it'd be crappy to take the course and use up ~1500 bucks from my current employer, then leave)... and it just got moved up to Monday. However, my contact north of Seattle said the particular training, if I did wind up getting it, would make me stand out in the job market. He did add I shouldn't make that the deciding factor though.

But now I've got a sense of obligation to stay awhile since they just provided this... and that's yet another obstacle, if only in my mind.

Just had yet another dream the other night that involved me travelling, California and word of travel delays.

In the dream, I get the impression in it that I had just entered California not too long ago (in the dream. Still on East Coast in waking life), and seemed to be at what was a forested amusement park or something. Can't say it was like Hersheypark in PA as this was way too forested.

In the dream, I'm talking to someone about best ways up north, and they mention about traffic delays on I-5. I get a mental image of Bing Maps yet again, with what seems to be almost like a dogleg stretch (maybe not so much but could be dream exaggeration), and the image in my mind (wasn't looking at a computer at that point) involved the traffic levels being a little yellow, but mostly orange and red (heavy congestion). Mentioned like an "hour and a half to get through there".

I tried to extrapolate this to an actual map of I-5 through that state, but the closest analogs to the description were either north of LA (maybe Bakersfield area), or around Tracy (again, referring to my one other post above, seemed close to Oakland), or possibly an area where I-5 sorta moves like how I had seen in this dream would be maybe close to Mt. Shasta. But I didn't see a precise match.

I do remember in the dream I attempted to ask the guy if there were any other ways I should go, like US route numbers and if the Pacific Coast Highway would be a viable option, but I didn't get the question out. Something may have been holding me back in the dream concerning that I was traveling alone in the dream, and the guy kept talking and changed subject I think.

The one thought I had was possibly detour and go through Los Angeles, which makes the dream sound like it's closer to Bakersfield. ...thing is, I don't think there's forested amusement parks like what I would have seen there. (It was either mid-late spring or early summer, or it was more evergreens which I don't think southern California has an overabundance of). I was also getting the sense that detouring through LA may not be as productive as I hoped (I remembered the legendary traffic there within the dream).

So basically a "I get there, and blocked from going further north" vibe. Also, I recently had a conversation that started making me think that some initial ideas of places to go (Seattle) may not be where I end up going.

I'm not sure what to make of this. Not sure if I should either be tracking transits better, or if I need a reading, or what to do regarding this. Maybe I'm stuck in a holding pattern for now overall... Or maybe I'm looking at moving to the wrong area.
