So last night before falling asleep I asked for an answer to why I'm obsessed with a certain man and one of my dreams seemed to contain a hint.

I was in a changing room with other people preparing myself for some kind of event. I was wearing a short, leather, bright red dress without sleeves. I looked at my legs and saw black, flat shoes and pantyhose socks on my feet, something like this:

I thought it looked lame. I realized my dress was hardly covering my butt and I made it a little longer with my intention. Then I noticed that I had another pair of pantyhose socks on my feet, they were red. They turned out to be stockings, I unfolded them on my legs. For a moment I thought of wearing high heel shoes but then I thought to myself "no, I don't want to be taller than him" (we're the same height). I entered a hall full of people, it was some kind of party. The general attention seemed to be focused on me. I saw HIM in the crowd, he was staring at me. His presence agitated me and I stared back but I lost him quickly. A contest started and people were given titles, "best something". It was fast, blurry and I mostly felt that's what was going on. Out of the blue I was given a title, I think it was the 4th one and for "the best dress/outfit".

What do you think?

May I ask: Did you have a relationship with this man?

No. If I did I wouldn't have asked for something like this.

I sense it has a lot to do with your ego and some sort of popularity contest(competition with other humans) which isn't based on true love in anyway and is bad for your spiritual growth.

Well, I wouldn't call it love either. Not sure about the ego but I don't think the "popularity contest(competition with other humans)" part applies to me.

Thank you very much for the information!

Please read it as an opinion:
Pantyhose socks are a finely woven net that is associated with security and to sit in the trap. To go barefoot in a dream can mean that the dreamer should come back again to the ground of the realities and more connection to the nature.
This dream indicates that the man has no real life connection (=pantyhose socks) and may not bring the best position (=4 th place) whilst there could be (=general attention to me).

Thank you but I wasn't barefoot at any point. Every time I glanced at my feet I had those black, flat shoes. Ballerinas I think. And when I first saw those red "socks" it looked like they were under the first pair but they were longer.

and may not bring the best position

Not sure what you mean by this.

Btw, by 4th title I meant it was the 4th category in the row during the contest. I was the winner in it.

You are welcome and that is exactly the point where you could start the connection in order to find the answer to your question and my opinion.

I wish you all the best with your connection!

Hello Aunt Anomalia

I don't know that this dream answers the question of why you are obsessed, but it does reflect your attraction to him.

The dream reflects your strong, base, "animal" desire (red leather) to reveal yourself to him, to attract his attention (very short dress/no sleeves), while also suggesting that you feel anxiety about trying to "fit it" (make dress longer/decide against high heels).

The adjustments you make to your outer appearance (clothing/height) could reflect adjustments you are considering making to your persona, perhaps unconsciously, that you think would increase your chances (contest) of getting his attention.

It would appear that you are confident in the presentation of your outer self (best dress/outfit), but may be unsure a about how aspects of your inner self are received (adjustments).

Does this make sense?

Perhaps the "why" can be answered in a future dream.

Thank you, it resonates with me. I did dream about him again, it was very quick though. He was lying on the floor, I was sitting bent next to him. We stared at each other for a moment, his gaze seemed dreamy. We shared a tender French kiss. I noted how soft his lips were. And then it was over.

Besides being a wish-fulfillment, this little dreamlet indicates your desire for him to submit (lying on floor), and that you want to have power over him (you are sitting above him). Did you bend over to kiss him? If so, this symbolizes his power over you, the obsession.

Keep asking why … the answer may yet come.

I think I did.

2 nights ago he had a short gig in my dream show again. I was standing in front of my primary-middle school complex. I was facing the house on the other side of the street. The curtains in the window on the 1st floor moved and there he was. He just stood there and was staring at me with curiosity. He was wearing a t-shirt, the color was something between pink and red, maybe it was a very washed out red. He was around 10 years younger, like I was while being a student there. Seeing him surprised me and made me a little nervous. I wondered if he recognized me. I think he appeared in that window twice.

This could tie some stuff together, but I'm not sure. The last dream you posted - the Crystal dream - was set in your elementary school, suggesting a possible connection with your past, with your early "programming". The previous dreams are about the ex. This dream has elements of both.

Does/did some specific aspect of yourself play an important role in the relationship with the ex? Some part of you which is heavily influenced by the past? Does this strike a chord?

Oh yeah. I was thinking of someone else, but no matter. The questions are still much the same …

So, my statements should have been …

Does some specific aspect of yourself play an important role in the pursuit of the obsession? Some part of you which is heavily influenced by the past? Do you need to become aware of, or heal some part of yourself, before any inroads can be made with the obsession?

I suppose I should ask first if it is even possible to pursue the obsession. Is this guy someone who exists in your daily life, or is he like a celebrity or something?

Sorry for disappearing here. No, I don't think it's related to my childhood. Let's put this thread to rest. Thanks for trying to help.
