Oxychick can't stomach the contentious energy here (can't say that I blame her), so we need a strong-willed Mod or two. I'm looking for someone who isn't too far left or right (a "moderate" to moderate?) and who has time to spend here. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." hmmm that's a tough one. It doesn't appear that anyone who spends alot of time in this forum lately is politically moderate. Good luck with that, Randall.. I could understand why Oxychick wants to pass the duty on to someone else. I don't think it's a job I would relish..This place is like a zoo sometimes! ------------------ The role of religion is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable. :::P.T. Please reconsider oxychick, I don't know what goes on in this forum lately, but your a great astrologer and an important member of this team. Honestly everyone I think whats going on is , now that mercury is direct its going back over the degrees where our problems started. Its just cleaning up. It will pass. So I nominate.....OxychickIP: Logged |

oh hey.. I was thinkin about this and one possibility occurred to me. What about Eleanore? She's not exactly smack dab in the center of the political spectrum but closer than alot of folks around here and she's always been very respectful, from what I've seen. Plus, she seems to spend alot of time at LL and doesn't seem to run away screaming from our happy little political forum. Tho I haven't seen here for a few days.. ------------------ The role of religion is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable. :::P.T. Barnum IP: Logged |

Hi Lalalinda,That is very sweet! But alas, I am no astrologer. Still less than a novice. I've known for a while that GU wasn't right for me (or me for it). I have very strong feelings about some of the issues posted, but don't share them because I didn't find this website to discuss (or to argue) politics. At the bare minimum, I would only step in when I thought someone was getting out of line, but someone else may have a stronger drive to contribute more than a referee whistle. With so much going on otherwise, I have less time to spend online and this place needs someone who can be more devoted to it. I'm positive that someone is already here. So I'm not gone, just not moderating GU. IP: Logged |

Hello Oxy Of course you have strong opinions, it's that most of us don't know what they are and that's a plus for a moderator. I think stepping in only when things get out of hand is a great policy on a forum like GU and would like to urge you to stay on, please! jwhop IP: Logged |

I think if we are going to look for mods in this forum it is going to have to be more than one person - most likely a team. So that the following is represented1. The Independant- someone that doesn't have a stake in politics or isn't leaning to any side. That person can be the so called babysitter making sure that the name calling doesn't get out of hand or at least they can offer the "peacemaker" approach. 2. The Liberal - A person that is well informed from the perspective of their party and can look up information or can offer their thoughts on whatever the topic may be. 3. The Conservative - same as the liberal person's definition. What we also need is someone that is actually wants to see debate and loves politics. It isn't for everyone. Oxychick - you are a damn genius and you have a big heart, I totally understand why you do not want to partake in this forum. All my best to you because I understand your reasons. The Liberal side could include people like Eleanore, MotherKonfessor and even Harpyr - but I think Harpyr has her hands pretty full in the momma earth one- then again, maybe we need a pro-green party person to contribute. The Conservative side- jwhop of course!!! He is so even keeled and well informed that he is a natural. I would follow that with Isis, she has a cool logic and also knows all the issues from both sides like jwhop. For the Independent - hmmmmmm. I am not sure..but what I have seen from a new peep - LibraSparkles - that person may be able to take that position. What do ya think? IP: Logged |
