my trip to D.C. and philadelphia was AWESOME, the historical sights are recommended to all, i had never been to D.C./philly, and i could honestly say it made me fall in love with the country i was born in, america is beautiful and i truly do love it here...something about D.C. is very potent and i even think about working there someday...it also made me realize, im disappointed in the way things are going, im disappointed with the president, our gov't...i miss what america use to stand for, i miss what america meant, we use to be respected, we use to be loved, and we use to do the right thing(in majority of people's eyes) but now everyone thinks we're a--holes, the economy sucks, and theres a gray cloud hovering over us constantly...

i hope and pray for the america we use to have...not just for me but for future generations...

Only a total leftist would say the economy suks and. Only a leftist could possibly be so ignorant as to not know inflation is almost nil, the unemployment rate is about 4.7% which is considered to be near full employment, that more people in America own their own homes than at any time in history...and not only in total numbers but as a percentage of the total population, that minority home ownership is also at an all time high...percentage wise as well.

Further, people are making more money in America...businesses too and to the point that government revenues have increased about 15% over what they were only 4 years ago...and all that with tax cuts instituted by the Bush administration...BECAUSE Bush cut the tax rates on ordinary Americans.

What leftist website are you getting your drivel from?

Unlike you and other leftists, most Americans don't give a damn what the people of France or the rest of the world thinks about how we choose to pursue the national defense of the United States...plainly, it's none of their damned business. However, the United States is also securing their sorry a$ses as well while they p!ss and moan about it.

Grow up, "I hate America whiners" have a choice and it's a big world. Pick your spot.

people are buying houses on credit, all these young people thinking BUY BUY BUY, but whats going to happen is that theyre going to realize they cant afford their brand new houses at some outrageous amount, foreclosures will ensue, EVERYONE IS PUTTING IT ON CREDIT(credit they cant afford)... and just because houses are being bought doesnt mean sh-t, because eventually its going to hurt US more than help,

also, we owe trillions of dollars mainly to china, do you think this helps us? how can you say the economy is good? we're outsourcing everything, the health care is bullsh-t , i hear people say they might as well put their name is jose lopez on the hosptial application than put their real names( IVE HEARD THEM NUMEROUS TIMES...How sad?)...

when we as a country start acting arrogant you coz unwarranted hate, yes we shouldnt walk on a thin line for everyone but doesnt mean we ignore everyone, right now its american, UK, and israel...the rest of the world hates us, we're losing friends when we should be keeping them, we're making enemies, and when you make enemies its the start of our demise,

i agree with making sure we keep america safe, i dont disagree, and i like your style and all unlike some people who follow the right wing side, but honestly im far from a liberal...or conservative, just because i dont follow your rules please dont say im one thing or another....

pick a spot? what is this? this reminds me of bush's speech "youre either with us or against us" sometimes things are a lot more complex than that...

"AND".......

Thank you for sharing your pictures...

....they are FANTASTIC!

I'm glad you had such a great time.

I was in DC on a short "whirlwind" tour awhile back....just briefly got to have a quick look see at some points of interest, but didn't get any pictures...

I'd like to go back some day and spend more time...

Try not to fret too much about the "state of America" at this time....I think we're going to be alright - eventually...

....but I sure understand cuz I'm not real happy with "things" as they are now, either....

We can keep loving our country, tho .....and hope and pray that one day we will have regained all the respect and admiration we once had in the world......*sigh*

The economy is very, very good indeed. The main problem is the balance of trade deficits the US is running and has for a very long time...been running with other nations...especially China which has their currency undervalued to make their goods overly competitive with those of other nations..especially the United States.

Sure, everyone knows no one was buying homes, cars or anything else on credit before the advent of Bush. Right, something brand new in the last 5 years.

Before Bush, the US was a cash society. Right!

40 year lows in interest rates made mortgage payments affordable for many more people. Most high interest rate mortgages were refinanced at less than 6 percent and that's been going on for more than 3 years. Where have you been? In case you missed it, it's still going on.

Frankly and fortunately, the rest of the world doesn't get a say in how the United States defends the United States.

Left to their own devices, they have proven over and over they can't even defend themselves. Europe couldn't even handle the third rate dictator Slobodan Milosevic who was involved in a genocide in their backyard.

Strange isn't it how the Eurowusses called on the US to do the heavy lifting...meaning...supply most of the military forces and equipment for a NATO party.

Most Americans are not overly concerned about what Europeans think about Americans. Were it not for the United States, they'd all be speaking German...or Russian.

Like I said, it's a big world. Pick a spot you like better...which would seem to be most any place else.

Thank you for the photos and words! The photos were quite good. Keep your joy, don't take anything personally, don't assume anything, (some Don Ruiz stuff) All we can control are our reactions. Perceptions can be illusionary, we allhave "voices in our heads" maintaining illusionary "reality". Our only task is to love, refine ours-elf, continue to transform into pure radiance. EVERYTHING ELSE IS ILLUSION
