Does anyone but me have a problem with this?? News headlines: quote: Lawmakers included language in this year's defense spending bill, approved last week, allowing them to spend the money. The money for "commemoration of success" in Iraq and Afghanistan was originally tucked into last year's defense measure, but went unspent amid an uptick in violence in both countries that forced the Pentagon to extend tours of duty for thousands of troops.

I have a problem with that too, Zala but it reflects the out of touch with reality thinking of the bunch of wealthy, corporate executives who are running this country. Meanwhile, our health care in America is at a third world level, our schools are not being funded, our medical and scientific research is suffering from lack of funding, we can't get our roads fixed in America, and organizations established to help the needy are closing their doors due to lack of funding. We need to concentrate more on the Bush administration's war on the working class Americans because the casualties are mounting here in this country by the day: quote: “In gross terms, if you take the rise in personal incomes (0.3%), subtract consumer spending (0.3% - 1.4% = -1.1%) and then subtract out inflation (-1.1% - 2.7% = -3.8%) you get a trend that is unsustainable at best. With inflation and spending, Americans, on aggregate, are growing poorer by nearly 4% a year.”Agora Financial Forum
Meanwhile billions of dollars of American tax payer monies are being pocketed by Halliburton and other corrupt corporations and the Bush administration itself and thrown away for elaborate parties in war torn countries where they aren't using the money to reconstruct either after blowing up those countries. There are still to this day, billions of dollars missing in Iraq which hasn't been accounted for. Hmmmm, wonder where it went. edited to add: Don't they need a victory first before planning on spending $20,000,000 of tax payer money on a party? What victory are they talking about? IP: Logged |

I'd better get an invitation and an airline ticket to wherever they're having this party (although I doubt that I would enjoy the company of the hosts).....IP: Logged |

Ah.....for the record, I think I should clarify something....(This clarification is for a certain person here, who never seems to "get it." and will without a doubt take the above post seriously) So....to be on the safe side I want it known that the above post was said in jest, okay? IP: Logged |
