"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

So now, we've heard it straight from the horses ass. America must ask permission from other countries to heat and air condition our homes to our level of comfort. America must seek permission from other countries as to what kind of cars we can drive. And America must get the approval of other nations as to what we choose to eat.

This guy is a real foul ball. This is the first time in the history of the United States that these opinions have ever been expressed by a major candidate.

Time to throw O'Bomber under the train and get on about our business of choosing a real American for President.

I don't own an SUV nor my home temperature is at 72degF its at 70.

Oh BTW, that Jerko does not understand how efficient HVAC(heating , ventillation and cooling) has become over last 20 years. They can be as efficient as 95% these days.

These bloody liberal politician always choose the side of that which is easy. And easy does not translate to justice always. Yet they equate fair with justice most often. And their followers are like those mices in that story that followed the piper and fell over the cliff...

LOL

Ok reading the link now...

He is a total wacknut.

I agree with you Mannu that it is obvious that he doesn't understand the mechanism and efficiency of heating / cooling systems.

And for the record (his record) we don't drive SUV's or keep our house at a 72 or higher degree temperature. I'd like to see how much he and his family spend on gas / electricity each month.

Obama Stupidity Part II
Rick Moran

Via the excellent Q & O Blog comes more Obama lunacy - this time giving us a taste of what McQ calls "global class warfare:"

Pitching his message to Oregon's environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to "lead by example" on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

"That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.

I don't see what business it is of people in other countries what I drive, whether I want to pig out all the time, or whether I like to feel warm and toasty during these nasty Midwestern winters. It is sad that people are poor and don't get enough to eat because they have lousy governments or can't drive big cars or heat their homes adequately because of inefficient energy policies.

We have what we have here because we don't empower the government to make decisions for us or allow the government to interfere too strenuously in the free market. With gas going up, SUV's will disappear from the roads as a result of market forces not because some third world flunky tried to make us feel guilty about being a successful society. The same goes for eating a lot of food or any other advantage we have here in America.

Obama wishes to apologize to the rest of the world for our successful society. John McCain wants more countries emulating us so that they too can enjoy success.

Which view makes more sense?

Is Iran a threat or not, Senator Obama?
Thomas Lifson

Within the space of a day, the candidate has changed his position.

May 18, 2008:

[If Iran] "tried to pose a serious threat to us they wouldn't . . . they wouldn't stand a chance."

May 19, 2008:

"So, I've made it clear for years that the threat from Iran is grave."

John Hinderaker asks, "Can someone explain why it is, exactly, that Barack Obama is not a laughingstock?"

I can, John. Two words: media bias.
