Hi all, I don't know how many of you have had an opportunity to read some of my poetry that was on this site, but for those of you who are interested, I've self-published a collection called "A Dark Riddle and a Head Full of Bees" and it is $10.00. If anyone is interested, please do email me. My best, LMB IP: Logged |

Sweetpeas, thanks. So I admit, I did a lousy job at marketing my book to you all. Let me try again: It is a poetry collection started last year when my mother and I went through some horrible times. You see, I had recently come home from a 30-day hospital program and was much much healthier and my mother just couldn't deal with the healthy me. Have any of you encountered that? When you get your act together, the people who have "enabled" you before can't deal with the new improved you? Well, the idea of my mother crashed before my eyes. Then, earlier this year, the same thing happened between my father and I. The collection is about the rift between parent and child and the bereavement and later, healing, that comes from it. So there you go. I'm going to have a reading here in town in November!! I'm SO excited. So if anyone is in Madison, Wisconsin around that time, come on down. Love LMB IP: Logged |

I received LMB's poetry book and it is really, really good!!! My quick review:
The poems express learned strength and wit and are thoroughly enjoyable. It comes off as very personal poetry, you get to be the fly on the wall. At times scathing, it is all wrapped in love (albeit sometimes tough) and you almost feel glad the poet got to say her piece! Clever, down to earth, inspiring and worth getting in my opinion... Thanks LMB!! I was so happy when the book came and read most of it right away it was so engaging! Is the Canterbury place a good place to send something to you??
Take care and see you around -Pearl IP: Logged |

Pearl, forgive my not being here for a while. Everyone, forgive me for not being here for a while. I lost my computer access and only have it now for a few days while I visit my love here in Tennessee for four days. Wow, I've never gotten a review before, Pearl, and yours was so flattering. THANK YOU. Feel free to email me as I fear I won't be able to be here in Lindaland as much as I would like. Best, LMB p.s. YOu may send me things at Canterbury, yes. IP: Logged |

Hi Pearl! Wow, a coffee table book so others can read. I'm honored. Thanks! Yes, I'm writing more. I'm past the "need to hash out my parental issues" poetry, now I'm mostly writing about being in love and the trials and blessings that come with that. I'm working on two novellas right now that want to be written but not finished. Hhmm. Hope you're well! Love LMB IP: Logged |

I have been wondering how one goes about actually PUBLISHING their works. Any advice LMB? I think people would really enjoy some of the stuff I write about, and entertaining them would bring me a lot of personal satisfaction.8) Daf IP: Logged |

Daf, I apologize for the lateness of my response. Advice? Well, I just say keep going. Go out and get "Poets and Writers" magazine. There's a listing in the back of magazines looking for work and contests. NEVER submit to anything with a huge amount for a reading fee. And don't go for those scams where they make you buy an expensive book for you to see your name in print. As for my book, it was simple. I went to KINKO'S and they put it together. It cost a little over a hundred dollars for 20 copies. I work at a bookstore which takes local poetry on consignment so I was lucky there. I went around to other bookstores in the area and some of them took it on consignment as well. Any other questions, feel free to ask, though I know I'm not the only one out there with advice to give! Why thank you. I sent it to a local chapbook publisher and they said they'd publish it were it not for the fact that I'd already sold so many in that format. But they're interested in more of my work. so... been not too prolific with writing these days. But I read last night at a reading and got some of my old spring in my step back. Love LMB IP: Logged |

Is your book still for sale? How you described the poetry reminds me of much I went through with my own mother, and I also love the idea of helping a fellow writer out!Do you have a website about your book, where people could learn more about it and order it? I'm a web designer myself, and if you are interested, I'd be more than happy to put one together for you (no charge, of course!) IP: Logged |
