There I was, all alone
Newly arrived
This was my new home
Down in SW5Filthy flats, toilets and kitchen
Solitude my friend
Freezing cold, no warm clothes
This was my snowy day
Moved to another joint
The people there drove me nuts
Nevertheless, this was paradise
There was no comparison, I'd been released from hell
Took off for the North
All the way, across the sea
The scarlet land I saw
in the flesh at long last
Drove to the West, walked to the East
The I visited the nation of Highlanders
Spring blossomed, summer was near
The clouds, the mountains,
the vegetations
Reminded me of the South of Aotearoa
Back to the land of Anglos
I became well enlightened
As I made my way down south
I encountered the beauty of the Coltswalds
As I approached the legendary university town
My haunting illness came back to me
On the way to an emergency ward in my next destination
I stopped in the capital and was
rushed to the sanctuary
There I was taken care of
Solution found, I was sent
To a place not afar
Without light in the toilets
Without hot water in the shower
I was content that the room was quiet and cosy
This was the East End
A murder had taken place nearby
I was regaining my strength
On the tube to the West everyday
Been to the East, been to the West
I travelled light to a friend's in a western city
Ever wonder whether I should've taken that trip
For I had a serious breakdown when I greeted him
Been to the East, been to the West
I'd returned to the heart of the Isles
My future promising, my spirit high
Never expected that there was more to come
