"Wisdom"Star filled nights, fragrant halcyon days
And like the summer leaves they wither and fade
‘Til all I’m left with are bitter years
filled with wasted regrets and empty fears How I wish I could go back to then
Hold tightly to all of my youthful whims
Dance wild with the sun warm on my thighs
drink in all the splendors that fill my eyes savoring life’s calm lulls and extremes
understanding and pursuing my dreams
Too great the price that wisdom is gained

Sorry!  The title of this is "Wisdom" I don't know how to change it, without deleting it...
I had just written another poem for a poetry group titled "Wasted Time" and got the two titles mixed up. I am such a "Goof" sometimes.IP: Logged |

*grabs box of tissues* i see tonight's gonna be one of those night..thx for sharing...its soooo true...the price of wisdom is our innocence....something i've honestly never thought of before...wow------------------
