I had a dream that brought me home.
In my dream, I saw him as he is now.
Not as he was then.
We were standing side by side on a hill.
There were purple flowers all around and
they smelled so sweet. He took my hand and
said "It is time to remember, the love, the pain. And everything in the middle."
With that, he kissed me and when I opened my eyes, the world had changed.
It was no longer the world of present, but a world I had long ago forgotten.
It was home.
As I looked around, I realized that I was still on the same hill but it was younger, greener, and more alive than it had been.
I was no longer the person I had been, but a young girl. That is when the memories started flooding in. The combination of what I now know to be heather, and of my acknowledgement of the things around me, I started to remember...
