Pausing now with purpose
Taking stock of where I stand
Time to stay aware and alert
Nothing's gained by playing a new hand
The impulse to act and resolve
it plays out in my veins

I have a poem by the same title, but written in a different emotion.I like this one because it's like you're calming one from overreaction and retains a soothing tone, like the word "lull" inspires.  IP: Logged |

Thanks for the compliments, MetalAphrodite. I actually ended up retitling it when I added it to the rest of my poems in the collection I am publishing as there was another one also titled, "Lull". I changed this one to "Breath".This is the other one: "Lull" Quiet peace that seems too calm
Wondering if emotion has gone
Standing here on the silent ledge
Staring down and having none
Crush the crawl of chaotic chill
Lingering here is so run of the mill
Slashing need to be away,
Saving outreach for another day
Angle in for higher ground
Feeling flightless, falling found
Stretch on forward in the void
Find a way for this to mend
Keeping weakness from the face
Bring me in as all descends ------------------

Thank you, cathy! I appreciate the support I plan on publishing "Singing the Grateful Path" sometime toward the end of this year, around November/December. I do have a FB page to update on the publishing process in my sig below. Of course, I will also post updates on here in this forum as the time grows closer  ----------------------
