Floating down the paths of grey,
there is no dark that covers,
there is no light that shines,
forever bound to live in twilight,
betwixt the realms of day and night.

Bare the light, so bright it shines,
I shy away so as not to be seen,
Bare the darkness, so empty it looms,
I shy away so as not to stand out.
For if I am not anonymous, I am rejected.

Floating down the paths of grey,
whispered words of silent support.
The hand that steadies never seen,
the shoulder to cry on never felt,
A stumble, a catch, never realised.

Floating down the paths of grey,
always there to help those in need.
Gently nudging them back to light,
helping them to find their path,
Wherever it may lead, and wherever they may follow.

I am a mirror for the soul to see,
All that lies inside its’ depths.
The pain, the truth, the choice?
So the truth is shown, so you may decide,
To run away, or gaze anon?

It is not my place in the paths of grey,
to ask you if you’d change your ways.
But I will be here, day after day,
awaiting your decision to go, or to stay,
silently listening for what you say.

And though I give hope to you,
I keep none, for myself.

You're a nice guy and deserve a polite response to your work...but I really said it out of honesty more than kindness. It is emphatically good. You really have a gift.
