When you look me in the eyes
What do you see?
The demon that burns every soul he touches
Or the child that wants to flyTo the wastelands to seek happiness
To the cities to embrace its filth
Filth of the saints and sinners
Always on the brink of death
Touch me softly lover, feel the façade
It’s not my skin, it’s in me for protection
Hold me for a moment, and feel what’s inside
In the heartbeats you’ll know what’s beneath the mask
What do I see in those eyes?
Pale, gray, and ethereal
I haven’t know it if it’s real
Or if your mask is well made
I can only see that beauty
Fading and withering slowly
But that soul, with an essence of freedom
It’s all what I want to see
I’ll embrace it lover, whatever you hide
The scars, the mud, the diamonds and the rust
I’ll hold you tightly, while it lasts
In your heartbeats I’ll know what’s beneath the mask
When it rains, when it shines
When it’s bad, when it’s good
As long you can feel it
When it bleeds, when it heals
While we live without fear
You know I’ll fight for it
Let’s not hide it anymore
We’re what we were meant to be
All that matters it’s that we’re free
With our lights and our darkness
And at the end it’s you and me
And whatever we are
There’re no reasons to be scared
Nobody will ever put us down again
Let’s embrace it lover, without the façades
Without all those demons from the past
Let me kiss you darling, and feel your heartbeats
As we can now feel the love without the masks
