written to Temple of the King by Rainbow. Thomas's Ten Orange Balloons.
At the Zoo
I bought Thomas
Ten orange Balloons
He was crying
Because he couldn't find his Mom
I said;
"Cheer up Little Tom
If you hold onto these
You will float high in the sky
Above the tall green trees
Your Mother will be waiting there
Happy as a peach
Ready to kiss your tawny hair."
Thomas Held with all his might
Onto his ten orange balloons
They didn't take flight
"Oh Mother! Dear Mother!
Where are you!
I shall die if we can't find each other!"
The lion wept
The Rhino tried to console
And the Elephant urged him in the concept
But none could quite convince
The tawny haired boy
Of all the hints.
So Thomas sat in the grass
With his Ten Orange Balloons He cried:
"Nothing will happen alas!"
He saw a pink pansy
Different shades of its face
Looked like his Mother Shanny
He smiled to it warmly;
"Oh, Pansy, oh Pansy
You like my Mommy."
As he closed his eyes
He rose from the ground
The balloons gave him quite a surprise
He flew through the air
Above the town steeples.
"Look a boy with ten orange balloons! How rare!"
"People, good people of the town"
Called Thomas to them
"Without my Mother, I'll surely never come down!"
